Chapter Three

Since today is Saturday, I decided to stay in my bedroom and finish unpacking the rest of my stuff. I don't bother changing my oversized grey t-shirt that I sleep in the night before. The front had a print of siesta z snoring away. I pulled a three feet box containing my books closer to the bookshelf. October texted me at five in the morning, telling me she and Geofort have a flight to Port Moresby to finish a job. I don't bother asking; the less I know, the better. It's all part of living with a mafia family, or some people like to say ganstas.

I was reaching out to put the least favorite of books on the top shelf on my tip toes when a knock sounds at my door. Without looking back, I said “Come in." Thinking is Gia. I didn't bother to turn and check until the door closes gently behind without her saying anything.

“You're awfully quite this morning..." I turn to see the man from last night standing in my room minus the suit. I feel underdressed compare to him in jeans, t-shirt (that has the word ‘fuck' in bold on front) and combat boots all in black. His eyes are staring at my naked legs, which are visible since my t-shirt cuts mid thigh. I clear my throat, drawing his eyes to my eyes.

“I come to apologize about last night." Okay? I thought standing there and staring into is startlingly honey brown eyes , the ones I thought were dark last night.

Without waiting for my reply, he turns to the door. Before closing it saying “I'm Gaius, by the way."

Oh, great. I've officially met the sarcastic moody brother.

Sighing tiredly, I turned back to shelve my books.

I woke up happy. Today is my first day of university life. I'm not gonna let Gaius ruin my mood. I did my usual morning routine before heading downstairs for breakfast. My hair is in a high bun. Today, I wore a simple yellow sundress covered in golden trumpets finishing off with my sneakers. I skipped to the dining room to find Gia and Gio already there.

"Good morning!" I sing happily, taking a seat opposite them.

"Morning. Looks like someone is happy? Woke up on the right side of the bed today?" Gio asked, smiling sweetly at his fiancee, walking in behind me. She proceeded to sit on his lap. He kisses her head before grabbing a new plate and filling two pancakes topping with syrup for Faye. They are so cute. I can't help but adore them. He then cuts her pancakes and begins feeding her, not bothered that Gia and I are here.

Taking a bite after swallowing, Faye asks, "Hey Tay, I heard from Gio that you'll also be attending Unitech. What courses are you taking?"

"Oh... Literature since I love writing a lot. What about you?"

"Me and Gio both are majoring in business since we will be taking over after our parents. Or specifically, my family's business since my siblings and I are all girls, and I'm first. Gio will be taking over. It also helps that my father adores him." She says before kissing his cheek.

"Oh, stop pulling his leg." Gia mumbles with a small smile on her face. Gia is taking engineering and plants to join the navy after that. Gio will be joining the army also before taking over Faye family business after, of course, he marries her. I envy them for having their life all planned out.
