Chapter 11
When I said use whatever's in there, that's not what I meant.
Smiley looked rather unnerved when he turned the corner and saw Aila hanging out with the gang. Aila quickly noted his expression, and silently told him that nothing had happened with her eyes.
“Mark! Thank God!” Daniel shouted, “I wanna get out of this shithole!”
It was only Aila, Daniel, Liam, Charlie, A guy named Matt who was slightly stranger than the rest, and Link left by that time.
“Come on everyone,” Charlie said, grabbing his car keys out of his pocket. Daniel, Liam and Matt climbed in the back of the jeep, and started moving things around so they could unfold the car seats. “We’ll drop Liam off first, then Daniel then Matt, and Aila last. You need a ride, Link?”
“Nah,” Link murmured, “mum kicked me out again. I’ll probably just stay here tonight.”
Charlie shrugged, while Aila stared in shock. “Are you crazy!?” She said, “Get in the car.”
Link’s head snapped up, “huh?”
“I said, get. In. The. Car.”
Mark saw what Aila was going to do, “don’t Aila,” he said, “he’ll run off by morning. And his night terrors are something else.”
Aila stared at him, dumbfounded. “Well I’m not going to fucking leave him here, am I?”
She dragged Link to his feet, and shoved him in the car.
Smiley rubbed her back as she climbed in after him. “You’re too nice, Trouble.”
Aila flashed him a grin, “but have you seen my bitch side? That’s something else too.”
The ride home was interesting. The air was filled with brokeNCYDE music, with half the car singing along as Charlie stopped in front of various houses, kicking various people out.
“Remember, midnight,” Liam called over his shoulder as he swaggered towards his house.
“Midnight what?” Charlie and Smiley asked in unison.
Aila rolled her eyes, and silently raised a finger to her lips, telling Daniel and Matt not to say anything.
Link was too far out of it to say anything anyway.
Charlie shrugged, whilst Smiley frowned, as they drove onwards to Daniel’s house.
Matt’s was next.
Then finally at Aila’s.
“Nice,” Charlie grinned, when Aila instructed him to stop.
“Yeah, shut up.”
“How can you and your parents all fit in there?”
Aila bit her lip.
“They don’t,” Smiley replied coldly, “her parents are still in Australia.”
“Oh, shit.”
Aila jumped out of the jeep, dragging Link with her. Smiley got out of the car, so Aila could give him one of her own special hugs. “Be careful around this group, alright?” He whispered in her ear, “and any problems with Link, call me, doesn’t matter how late.”
Aila giggled, and kissed him on the cheek. It was nice to know someone cared.
“Hey!” Charlie called from inside the car, “I want one of those!”
