Nick didn't leave any time for her to get far, before stalking out of the club after her. He found her outside, halfway down the sidewalk.
"Hey! Hey!" Nick called after her.
She stopped short and whirled around to face him, her face contorted in disgust.
"That's not a good look for you, babe." He said, smirking, as he walked closer to her.
"You're not a good look at all." She snapped at him.
She bit her bottom lip and looked him up and down sizing up his business suit and thick dark hair that completed his perfectly tanned face and dark brown eyes. The woman realized she had lied, but didn't backtrack her words.
"What's your name?" He said, ignoring her insult.
"Why?" She retorted rudely, but didn't apologize.
"I just saved your ass from that disgusting man back there. The least you owe me is a name." Nick said, taking in her long chocolate hair that had curls so beautiful he wanted to walk closer and run his hand through them.
He resisted and shook his head at his sudden thoughts for the woman he had just met.
"Oh yeah? How do I know your not like him?" She said, even though she fully well knew.
"My good looks." He said, with a cocky smile.
"Seline." She said, after a moment of hesitation.
"Okay well, Seline, can I take you out to dinner?" Nick asked.
"It's one in the morning." She said, blankly, curious at what he would want.
"There's an all night diner right down the street would you like to go there?" Nick asked, again, more persistent.
"Not really, but I guess I should." She said bluntly, her face showing no emotion.
"Good enough for me," Nick said, jogging to catch up with her, as she continued walking down the sidewalk.
They arrived at the diner and the door dinged loudly as Nick pushed it open for her. Seline walked ahead of him and picked a bright red booth near the back, Nick followed her and they slid into the seats opposite of each other, the seats cold against Seline's bare legs.
"Can I get you anything?" The red headed waitress asked them, as she handed them menus.
"Coffee for me. Seline?"
"Same." She said.
The waitress wrote it down and walked away leaving us in an awkward silence.
"So how are you?" Nick asked, feeling his usual smooth resolve crumble, unlike him especially around a woman.
"Cut the small talk you invited me here for a reason, what is it? I know it's not just to talk about our feelings." Seline asked, putting her menu aside, and staring into Nick's dark brown eyes.
"Well I love how nice you are." Nick said sarcastically. Seline just stared at him blankly, and Nick wondered how many times she had done that tonight.
"Okay I'm a businessman, a very successful business man might I add-"
"Cocky much." She muttered under her breath but Nick heard her.
"No, just truthful sweetheart." He responded before continuing. "I know how to get to the point. I have a proposition for you." Nick said, casually leaning back against the bright red leather seat.
