Background

I was on a simple walk. Just walking around the forest that I knew was home. Father told me not to go far but I couldn't help myself. I mean it's not like I don't know where I am going. We are a Kingdom that is shuttled from the rest of the world. My father is the King of Beast. He was said to have disappeared after the last fight of the shadows. Although, since the shadows are back Father has been gone more often. Which led to me having babysitters. Yup, 3 of them. That's a bit over dramatic I think for 1, 7 year old. Although there are only 2 who watch over me. Banzai, and Shenzi. They are hyenas, with Shenzi being my father's right-hand guard. With her being a female hyena she does have more strengths than the other hyenas. Also, with her being very strong they had a kid. Her name was Pretty Scar, or as I love to call her Scarie. Now Scarie and I are very close friends. We did everything together. Although, she never got the point of me wanting to adventure out on my own. I understand that she thinks that I need to be protected but I'm sure that I can do that on my own. As I got to an opening I saw the savanna. I breathed in and out and smiled to myself. " It looks so beautiful already." I started to walk towards the savanna until I heard a twig snap behind me. I stopped and sighed in defeat. "My cub where do you think you are going?" As I turn I see my father in all his glory. His mane is up in a ponytail with the golden Crescent of our family. His emerald dark green eyes captured my (e/c) eyes. "Well?"

"Sorry dad...I just wanted to see the savanna... I want to go see where we were before we went to the forest to hide." I whispered.

"(Y/N).. why didn't you tell me? You know I could've brought you?"

"Well, you were busy with the shadows again Dad.." I rubbed my arm.

He sighed matched my height and made me look at him. "My dear, nothing can ever keep me away from you okay? Now." He put a white and yellow cape on and put on the hood to cover his face. "If we are gonna go out in public you have to cover yourself."

I smiled and nodded as he handed me a cape that he just made and I put it on myself. As he held out his hand I held onto it and we started to go into the kingdom. As we got closer I looked around seeing multiple other beastmen and women. I smiled at my dad as he patted my head. Some beastmen start to stare at us in shock. Which is normal. Usually, the male in any animal doesn't want anything to do with their young. So people will usually give this reaction. However, my father was the one who cared the most about his young (me). I smiled at the other as I saw a hyena with what looked to be his grandmother. She looked a bit too old to be the mother. Also, I learned from Shenzi that not all the mothers survive the birth and they die. As I did a close smile to him to not fully scare him away. I slowly made my way over. "Hello, my name is (y/n). I'm new my father and I just got here."

"Oh h-hello... I'm Ruggie. The is my grandma" He pointed to the older hyena.

I smiled softly and waved and we talked for a bit. We even played a bit of catch. That was until I saw my father was done My father kept walking and I looked back at Ruggie and smiled and hugged him. "Thank you for playing with me No one ever does that usually they're too scared..." I whispered.

"Well, maybe you can start going up to more people and make more friends. I wish you the best (y.n) I hope we see each other again!" He smiled hugged me back tightly and whispered. "We can do anything we put our mind to just believe!"

I smiled and pulled back as I looked back one last time and waved before going after my father. As we were looking at the different shops and stores I heard horns. I looked at my father as he brought us out and looks, and he dipped down to my ears and whispered "Act like the people around you, you have to adapt to this situation." As I looked around I saw some people bowing. I studied their posture and both my and my father bowed. Other lions... I look at my father as he places his hand on my back to calm me down. As I see the lions I look and see the king and queen and then 2 boys after them. One was a bit older than the other, he had sunset hair with hazel brown eyes. He stood tall and interacted with some of the kids and made them happy. Then the other was a bit smaller, he had to be the youngest of the family. He had dark brown hair and 2 braids in the front, with bright emerald green eyes, he kinda looked like he was upset to be here. Although, my thinking stopped when the king stopped...right in front of us... I look at my dad as I start to get nervous. "I have never seen you around here before. Plus, we don't have silk like that here?" The king pointed to our capes and my father got up and looked at him. "We come from a different kingdom, Your Highness. My daughter was curious and so we made our way to your wonderful kingdom."
