Ch2: Trials and tribulations

3rd POV

As Himeko walked out and slammed the door behind herself she sighed with an angry look.

"So, did that accomplish anything?"

Himeko turned and saw a young woman with blue hair and glasses.

"What do you mean?" Himeko asked Fu hua angrily.

"Well, I already told you didn't I? I think you're being too cautious around someone you haven't met yet."

Himeko: "Can you blame me?"

Fu Hua: "I understand being cautious but isn't this still a bit much? We don't know if she'd mind him to begin with, do we?"

"I couldn't protect her then, I'm going to make sure to protect her now."

It was now Fu Hua's turn to sigh as she shook her head. "Theresa asked us to at least give him a chance, the overseer vouches for him and for all his flaws, he's smart, I doubt a child can hide his true intentions from him."

Himeko couldn't doubt the point and still something within her chose to remain vigilant, after all, you can never be too cautious around strangers, but...

"Fine, I'll leave him be, but don't think for a second I'll let my guard down around him."

Fu hua: "Good, now come on, Mei has prepared lunch." She said walking away with Himeko following after her.

Y/n's POV

Damn, that wasn't fun, alright back to these damn files, I think as I open another one and start reading it.

"Hey captain need help with those?"

"What the hell?!" As I heard that I nearly fell out of my chair, looking around for the source of the voice. "Who..."

"Helloooo" I heard as after another second of looking I saw it, or rather her.

Y/n: "Um who are you?"

"I'm AI-chan, I'll be helping you while you're the captain!"

Y/n: "S-Sorry, could you please explain a bit more?"

Ai-chan: "Sure! What would you like to know?"

"How long have you been here, why didn't anyone tell me and why didn't you say anything before?"

Ai-chan: "That's simple, I've been here the entire time, no one told you most likely because they didn't think to tell you and I didn't day anything cause the information you are the new captain has just been uploaded to the system."

Y/n: "Alright, so what's your purpose?"

"I'm your virtual assistant and I'll be helping you with all your work needs!"

Y/n: "Alright, thanks? So um, yeah, I'll just go back to reading through these files now..."

Ai-chan: "Okie dokie, just call on me if you're stuck or in need of something."

I nod and got back to reading.

After about 2 hours or so I realised I've done basically everything I can and am supposed to do today, so I'll most likely just clock out and go for a walk, maybe I'll find someone to give me a full tour.

As I finished up and put everything in it's place I walked out, locking the door behind myself and walking back to my dorm. The second I got in, I got into something more comfortable and collapsed onto the bed.

"Ugh, this is already a drag, I haven't been here a day and someone already doesn't want me around... I suppose Theresa wasn't kidding huh..." I thought, rubbing the side of my head. After a few more seconds of this I got up and picked up my phone, I suppose I can sit back foe a bit can't I?

And so another hour goes by, many more would have, had it not been for a distinct sound most people knew by heart...

A stomach grumbling.

I got up and looked around, I suppose I could eat here... Well, could but sadly the fridge is empty, thank you very much whoever didn't think to put anything in it...

Fine, I suppose I'll have to leave and get some food in the canteen or whatever.

As I made my way out of my dorm I realised I had no clue where I was going, suppose I'll just have to walk around aimlessly until I get there or until I bump into someone who isn't ignoring me or giving me death glares, which so happens to have happened after about ten minutes in fact!

A young woman, smaller stature, she was wearing what appears to be some partially changed blue traditional Chinese dress, she was on the shorter side, about my height, wore glasses and had blue grasyish hair.

I accidentally bumped into her while walking around a corner, cliche right? Cliche aside I did the only thing I thought right so I got up and offered her a hand which she thankfully took.

"Sorry about that, it's my bad, I wasn't looking where I was going." I said giving a slight bow as she only moved her glasses back in place and sighed. "Don't worry, accidents happen, just make sure to learn from this and watch around corners more often."

"Will do... So um, I'm kinda new here would you mind maybe showing me where's the canteen?"

She raised an eye brow at your request but complied gesturing you to follow her.
"My name is Fu Hua, may I ask yours?"

"Y/n, nice to meet you." I replied with a smile.

Fu Hua: "You're our new captain, yes?"

"Word spreads fast huh..."

"Indeed it does, how are you adjusting so far?"

"The office is... Nice, it's well made and my dorm looks very well furnished aside from a lack of any kind of food or drinks, job... Haven't seen much of it yet so I suppose I'd have to give you that answer at a later date." I replied thinking whether I should mention Himeko or not.

"And how are others treating you so far? I know major Himeko hasn't given you much of a welcome has she?"

"Ah... You know about that?" That made me stop and fidget nervously. "It-It's fine, I get she's being cautious..."

Fu Hua turned with a mildly annoyed expression. "You really shouldn't just accept that as fact you know?"

"Yeah yeah, but I don't have much I can do right now, can I? Plus, I'm sure it will blow over eventually..."

She just shook her head at me and sighed before continuing to walk. "You really shouldn't just let that not bother you but fine, anyways why are you going to eat lunch so late anyways?"

"I was reading files and getting myself familiar with my job and dorm, plus, means I'll have less eyes on me."

After that followed a mostly uncomfortable silence before we finally reached the canteen after which Fu Hua just told me to enjoy my food and left me. Thankfully there was almost no one there, and those that were eating seemed to mostly ignore me thankfully.

Finally after eating I went back to my dorm where I spent the rest of the day mostly reading through files before I finally decided to call it a night and go to sleep finally.

Welp that took a while, so, what's happened since the last time we were here? Well first of all happy new year, second of all Honkai has pretty much peaked with Penacony, Dr Ratio was an insane treat and now I'm just waiting for Acheron to release, genshin hasn't been too interesting so far aside from the drama which I've been distancing myself from. Anyways, Nijisanji is having a fucking meltdown and lastly Mat Pat has left YouTube, or, well, will leave YouTube soon enough, I'll miss him, guy was my childhood, anyways, have a nice day everyone and I hope I'll see you here soon.
