{A/N: Caress is the Daemos word for a kiss}

Pierce's P.O.V

Y/N went to work, like always. I was petting the spirit's head while it slept in my lap. Y/N told me the spirit was called a dog. Creatures on E-urth have strange names.

The spirit nuzzled its face into my stomach and I softly chuckled at the feeling. The spirit had no intention to harm me so I trusted it, as it had no intention to harm Y/N either.

Speaking of Y/N, I was wishing she was with me. Y/N meant everything to me. More than my fellow Daemos, more than the magic crisis, more than anything I'd ever known. The feeling of love–what Y/N called it–was foreign to me.

I hadn't experienced anything like it on Daemos and was utterly lost in it when I met Y/N. She introduced me to it. She was the first person–human or Daemos–I fell for. She was perfect in every way possible.

And I couldn't have been happier.

So when she asked me if I would ever leave her for somebody else I was shocked. Had I not given her enough? Why had she felt I would leave her? I wasn't sure, but I knew I needed to fix that feeling.

I just had no idea how.

E-urth was new to me and I didn't know how 'love' worked. I was afraid I would ruin things with Y/N if I tried to fix things. What if she was just having an insecure thought and she was fine? What if she didn't need my help? I wasn't sure.

A knock erupted from the door. Y/N told me to never answer the door unless it was her, so I didn't move. The knocks kept on coming, each one harder than the last.

The spirit began to wake up, so I gently pushed it off of my lap and stood up. I swiftly made it to the door and unlocked it. There stood the female human from yesterday with her fist raised as if she were to knock on the door again.

"Oh! Hi there! I assume your name's Pierce?" The female human asked.

How does she know my name?

"Yes."

The female human giggled and twirled her hair. "Well, I'm Tess, and.." She looked past me into the–what Y/N calls–apartment.

"Is Y/N home?" The female human named 'Tess' asked. I pondered the question, tilting my head to the side as I thought. Should I say if Y/N is home?

"Oh, you're so cute when you tilt your head!" Tess squeaked. Only Y/N ever called me 'cute' so when it came from another human, it didn't feel as special.

I still didn't answer the original question. Tess crossed her arms with an exasperated sigh. "Y'know what, who cares if Y/N is home!"

She pushed me into the 'apartment' and closed the door behind both of us. The spirit laid practically dead on the couch. Tess looked around the 'apartment' with her nose scrunched. "Ugh," She breathed out, "what died in here?"

Nothing? I thought to myself.

Tess looked back at me and placed her hand on her hip. She smirked as she looked me up and down. "So, I'm assuming Y/N isn't home?"

Tess took slow steps toward me as she smugly grinned. I stood my ground and didn't move, but the sudden change in her attitude was enough to make me slightly nervous.

"Y-yes."

"So we can do... whatever we want?" By this point, Tess was right in front of me. She was about Y/N's height so her head was up to my chest.

Tess was making me very uncomfortable, the exact opposite of how Y/N made me feel. If all female humans are like this, then why was Y/N so worried about me leaving her?

Before I could even comprehend what was happening, Tess stood on her tip-toes and caressed me. No, not on the cheek. Directly on my lips.

That was the moment I heard the door open and a gasp.
