Hope is a kind and sweet girl despite having lived a terrible horrible life before being saved by the tree of feelings. She had some hidden anger towards the villagers for her own reasons and because of what they do to Nightmare but no one listens to her because she is the youngest.
She wanted to be listened too like her brother. She was often ignored by Dream so she really only ever had Nightmare to look up too as he always listened to her. They helped each other out while they were hated on and forgotten Dream was favorited by everyone in the village even their mom.
The day Nightmare are one of the apples Hope did as well. She would rather be with the brother that cared about her than the one that didn't. So she joined Nightmare.
