Craziness Knows No Bounds

I'm so tired!

I stare across the blank ceiling. How am I supposed to submit a thesis by this week. I cry spiritually. I've been stuck like this for the past 1 day. Procrastinating. I hear the monitor go, "Ding, Ding". I slowly got up and the door opened. "Hey my boy!" said Ren. I noticed Lisa and Tsuki walk behind them. "Yo, what the hell are you all doing here?", I asked in a unserious tone.
"Here to check on your dumbass" replied Lisa sarcastically. I scoff and go back into my bed. Ren and Lisa sit on his bed and Tsuki seems to be confused as to where to sit. I move my leg and tell her to just sit here and look away afterwards. She sits down after hesitating momentarily. They start to talk about random things and I peek at her. I guess she felt guilty. She seems awkward. I was still stressed out, so I decided to throw a jumper on and told them I was going out to get a drink. I quickly took my room card and exited.

I had a lot in my mind and I wanted to take this walk to cool my mind. I walked out of the dormitory building and walked a little over the campus where a few vending machines were set. As I neared the vending machine for drinks, I saw someone trying to get a drink and when I got close to them, I saw Monika standing there in a some what casual clothing and cute slippers on. I found it cute. I walked over next to her and looked at the vending machine. She noticed me but stayed quiet? Something I realised about her is that she seems very antisocial. I couldn't think of any topic to say. It seems like she was also looking for a drink. I saw a strawberry sparkling drink and pressed the button. "Beep", and my drink rolled out from the bottom. I picked it up and then I heard, "Oh". I looked at her and she seemed interested. She got closer and pressed a button and reached for her drink. It was strawberry milk. I said, "Oh strawberries, the same as me". She looked at me and said "Yeah". I asked her, "Do you like strawberries?". She looked at me in the eyes. "I love them" she replied. I was amazed at the way she seemed a little livelier talking about strawberries? "I love strawberries too" I said while opening up my drink . "Here, let's do a small cheers", I suggested and she agreed. We tap our drinks together slightly saying, "cheers". We take a sip of our drinks. I felt good. A strawberry refreshing drink. She seemed to enjoy her drink although she was still expressionless.

A few sips down and she asks me how the first lecture was. I sighed. I told her what happened and how stressed I feel about it. "That's just how Miss Reika is" she replied. I asked, "what do you mean by that?". She said, "You picked the most toughest and strictest professor in the university". I facepalmed myself. What did I get myself into. I was devastated a little but pulled myself together and accepted my fate. No life is easy. We always have to combat challenges head on I said to reassure myself in my head.

Another few more sips down in silence. My head started to remember about the missing girl flyer the cute girl gave me. I hesitated for a second. "Uhh, Monika.." I said and she looked at me. "Is the missing girl flyer real? The one the short girl Xienna I think her name was, handing out?". The mood suddenly turned a little weird after I asked about it. "It's real" she replied looking a bit tense. "Wait, what?" I asked. "How come it's not in the news or anything?" I asked confused. "Listen.. how do you think this Academy survives without being reported for anything? Rich people can pull strings to do anything" she answered back a little upset. "No way..." I whispered. I thought this Academy was amazing and knew there might be some downfall but I didn't expect it to be that bad.

"Lee Jeon-suk" she says in a cold tone. "It's best for you to not get too involved in these things and just continue your life as normal without attracting attention" she said looking away from me. "If you want to survive that is" she says again before walking away and throwing her drink in the garbage can after. She left me there in a  state of confusion again. I Sighed to myself. I could feel that there was something wrong with the Academy now. It doesn't look as glamorous as it did when we first entered. I guess it's true that behind every beautiful thing lies something scary and horrifying. I don't want to get involved after hearing her words but I also can't stand seeing things happening like this and no justice is served. I may not be God but if even one of my actions could help, it would mean everything. I won't act too foolish to get justice so I should keep this a secret from the others for now.

I throw my drink away and set my mind of focusing on finishing that damn thesis that's killing me and then maybe I will investigate a little. I bought a few drinks for my friends in my room right now. I look around, before leaving the area. After feeling okay and a little safe, I decide to walk back into my dormitory. I can only hope nothing crazy happens again in this Academy and that we will all survive whatever entity it is that we are facing. I take a deep breath as I'm standing right behind our room door. I prepare myself fully. I will do whatever it takes to survive. Mark my words.
