excerpt from Collective Daily News (CDN), 6/24/2998
Today, we ask: where would we be without the Collective?
History gives us the answer: we would be dead. We would have died on the battlefields of pointless wars, perished on the path of bloodthirsty conquests, or taken our last breaths during fights over territory that no one could win. We would be a number on a news story. A name on a mass grave. A single fallen puppet on an expanse of blood-coated grass.
The Collective changed everything. By uniting the continents into a whole, it eliminated war. By instituting a single leader at the head of the government, it eliminated division. By developing the Central Academy, it ensured that the future would be left in good hands, and guaranteed that we would never again have to experience the terrible horrors of the past.
Today is Finals day, and today, we celebrate the glorious leaders that brought us to our peaceful and bloodless state of society. Today, we salute the next generation, who will continue to build towards the original Collective's goals, ensuring a better future for all of us.
E pluribus unum.
Out of many, one.
