The Ultimate Story

Chapter 3

Jeremy and the kids got off the plane and started to unload their stuff. They each had a large suitcase. Cray and Jamie's family weren't as rich as the Stevens, but they weren't poor either. When entering the lobby they saw a silver truck outisde. As the four kids and one adult walked from the unloading area, he studied them. Cray wore a blue sweatshirt and a black graphic tee with dark blue jeans and white sneakers. Howey wore a black leather jacket, white shirt and tan jean shorts with a brown beanie on his head. Jamie wore a long sleeve tan shirt with ripped jeans, and boots. And Lexi wore a purple graphic tee with a bright white jacket, and light blue jeans, with a green hat, black sneakers, and white sunglasses. Howey says "So where's this Gus guy?" An older voice says "Right in front of you." They look into the silver car and he says "Get in we're your ride." In the car there was a young man probably in his early 30s. Gus says "I'm Gus, but you probably already know that. This is my son-in-law Gester." Lexi says "Hi Gester." Howey says "I'm Howard, this is my sister Alexis." Cray says "This my sister Jamie, and my names Cray." Jeremy says "I'm Jeremy." Gus says "Well let's get going shall we."

The truck was small. Gester and Gus sat in the first two seats, Howey and Lexi got the back, and Cray, Jamie, and Jeremy ended up in the open back part with the bags. As they were driving Gus says to Howey "You like a lot like your father you know that." He says "I get that alot." He says "So back there they like your cousins." Lexi says "No there just friends." He nods. When they arrive at the house they pull their bags out of the back. Lexi takes a look at the house and goes "Woah." Gus says "Little fancy for country living but it does alright." They pull the bags up to the door and two small kids come running out with chocolate all over their faces. The boy yells "Grampa, grampa mommy's making brownies." Gester picks up the little girl and says "Mommy gave you chocolate." She smiles and says "Yeah." He says "Well I might just have to call the tickle monster." She screeches in delight as he turns her upside down and tickles her stomach. Gus says "Come on everyone in the house." Howey says "One big happy family." Lexi sighs. Gester says "Come on we ain't gonna bite." They walk in the house and stand in the hall. Gester puts the little girl down and says "I'll take your bags upstairs." Jeremy says "Oh I'll help you." They carry the luggage up the stairs.

Then a woman about in her thirties comes out of the kitchen. She wears a messy apron and has chocolate batter all over her face. She says "You must the guests my father told me were coming." She shakes each of their hands. Gus says "This is Howard, Alexis, Cray, and Jamie. Kids this is my daughter Ana." Then the two kids ran by again and into the living room. He says "And that was her twins Isabelle and Matthew." Ana yells "Matt, Belle" They stand politely she says "Guys this is Howard, Alexis, Cray, and Jamie." Lexi says "Please call us Howey and Lexi." Matthew jumps up and Lexi catches him in her arms. He looks up and smiles, his big blue eyes stare at her and then he says "I like her." Howey giggles. Cray says "I think you got an admirer there Lex." Jeremy and Gester come down. Gus introduces him and then they yell for dinner.

Gus's wife had made a large turkey. Howard says "I don't think we've had a meal this good since." Lexi says "Yeah." The family lowers their heads and Cray says "In a very long time. It's very delicious." She says "Thank you." She then says "How long have you known the Stevens?" Cray says "We've lived next to Lexi and Howey's um family since Jamie was very little." Gus says "Well how are Jason and Alexia, you haven't mentioned them, are they ok?" Lexi says "Sorry." She gets up and leaves toward outside and Howey goes upstairs. Gus says "Was it something we said?" Cray gulps and whispers "Jason and Alexia are missing." Gus says "What?" Jeremy says "After Ted's death, they left for South America about a year ago, all communication from them stopped a couple months ago." Gus says "So is that why your here?" Jeremy says "We think that something from the tasks we put Jason on can help them find their parents." Gus says "What do they know about everything so far?" Jeremy says "Nothing." Gus nods. Cray says "Are we missing something?" Gus sighs.
