After successfully updating Principal Masamachi about your latest encounter with Geto and all its intricate details, you decided to shoot Nanami a message that you were on your way to his place. Despite being a few hours late, work was work, and there wasn't much you could do about it. You didn't always enjoy it, but duty called.
As you exit the school grounds of Jujutsu High you think to yourself.
"Well, at least it isn't as hot out anymore," a content sigh slipped past your lips as you continued on your way.
Feeling your phone vibrate in your right hand, you glance down at the screen with your e/c orbs, noting that Nanami almost immediately replied to your message.
"Okay, thanks for the heads up. I'll get us some takeout, and I have a bath prepared for you for when you arrive here, as I know how much you need it," Nanami's message reads, short but sweet. Butterflies flutter in your stomach as you marvel at your luck to have such a gentleman as your friend. It's a stark contrast, and you can't help but acknowledge that Gojo wouldn't do the same.
This played a part in why you chose to go to Nanami's because, truthfully, you didn't want to be alone, and Nanami was always the gentleman compared to the likes of someone of Gojo's stature. His thoughtful gestures and genuine concern provided a comforting refuge that you sought in moments like these.
Plus, you knew being alone with Nanami always made Gojo jealous. In retaliation, he loved to boast about all the "fantastic" encounters he was having with "attractive" women. You say "attractive" lightly because beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and you knew Gojo's perception of attractiveness aligned more with society's norms than your own.
Snapping yourself out of your unhelpful thoughts, you teleport to the outside of Nanami's apartment door. Not wanting to be rude by simply appearing before him, you make your presence known with a light knock on the dark oakwood door.
"Nanami, it's Y/n. Am I alright to come in?" you ask, fully expecting the affirmative answer, but still wanting to be courteous toward Nanami as he always is to you.
"Yeah, the door's unlocked, so you can come in," you hear Nanami say, slightly raising his voice so you can catch his response.
As you enter his apartment, you notice Nanami is in the kitchen, organizing the takeout onto very expensive-looking plates. It would be a straight lie if you said you weren't hungry; between the sparring with Gojo and the intense encounter you had with Geto, you were quite frankly famished.
Besides the plates, Nanami has set aside a glass full of your favourite wine, Chateau Margaux 1787. In your opinion, it's worth the hefty price tag. It always gives you a good buzz after a stressful day at work, and the taste is divine. The thoughtful gesture brings a smile to your face, appreciating the comfort that Nanami always seems to effortlessly provide.
You make your way towards Nanami's spacious kitchen counter, grabbing both your wine and dinner from him. A quick thank-you escapes your lips as your mouth salivates at the thought of finally eating something today. You had skipped breakfast this morning because you just weren't feeling it, making the aroma of the takeout all the more enticing.
Just after you grab your meal, you hear Nanami lightly say back, "You're welcome." The simple words carry a warmth that makes your cheeks ever so slightly warm, which didn't go unnoticed by Nanami as he subtly smiles to himself.
Heading towards the other side of the coal-black marble counters where the four bar stool chairs are situated, you promptly place both your plate and wine glass down, sitting on the far-right corner stool. You carefully note that Nanami has made his way over to your right side, settling into the stool comfortably.
