Chapter Ten

All I could think of was how could I possibly act normal with Remor after everything?

It was easier said than done. Madaling magpanggap para sa akin noon dahil hindi naman niya alam na mahal ko siya... pero ngayon, parang ang hirap hirap na no'n.

"Good morning, Cherry..."

Tipid na ngumiti ako nang bumati sa akin si Remor. Naghahanda na siya ng almusal na routine niya na yata tuwing umaga.

Napailing ako at napabuga ng hangin... sana hindi ako masanay sa ganito. Sana hindi ko ito hanap-hanapin kapag umalis na siya ulit sa poder ko.

"Good morning." I smiled at him as I greeted him back.

He prepared our breakfast. I could not help but to stare at him. I'm sure he was like this too when he was with Elara. Remor might be seen as nonchalant and ruthless, but he really cares a lot for the people he loves.

I know that he loves me, but only as a friend. I don't know if I should be sad because friendly love is the only kind of love he could give me, or if I should be happy because at least, he loves me still... Most people say contentment is the key to real happiness.

"What's your plan for today?"

Natigilan ako sa pagkain nang biglang magtanong si Remor. Alam niyang day-off ko sa trabaho ng ganitong araw.

I bit the insides of my cheeks. I wanted to go out and avoid him the whole day, but I'm not in the mood to go out.

"Maybe I'll just... stay in my room and do nothing." I chuckled.

He smiled at me. "That sounds exciting."

"Are you being sarcastic?" I asked and raised my eyebrow.

"No. Staying in your room the whole day is the best. Have you forgotten that I'm more of an indoor person too?" He chuckled.

He's right. Before he met Elara, he often enjoyed his time alone. Madalas din siyang magtrabaho sa bahay niya at hindi sa opisina. Nagkasundo rin naman sila ni Elara sa bagay na iyon dahil hindi rin naman mahilig lumabas si Elara.

Napailing na lang ako sa mga naiisip ko.

"How about you? What are you planning to do today?" I asked and drank my coffee.

"Well... I'll just stay here too. Sasamantalahin ko ang pahinga ko sa trabaho," natatawang sabi niya.

Tumango na lang ako at hindi na nagkomento pa sa sinabi niya. Napabuga ako ng hangin at natigilan nang maalala ko ang naging usapan nila ni Draxon kagabi.

"Remor... totoo bang sinunog mo ang restaurant ni Draxon?" tanong ko.

Nasamid naman siya sa biglang itinanong ko. Napahawak siya sa batok niya at tila nahihiyang ngumiti sa akin. I still could not believe that this man in front of me could torture and kill people.

"It was nothing for him, Cherry. Barya lang kay Draxon iyon," paliwanag niya.

I bit my lower lip and shook my head. "You shouldn't have done that. Paano kung may tao pala sa restaurant that time?"

"I made sure there was not even a single soul in there before I burned it down," pangangatwiran niya pa.

My eyes narrowed. "You still have a childish side in you. Don't do that again just because of me. Baka lalo kang magkaproblema kapag kinalaban mo si Draxon. Hindi pwede sa Feroci 'yon, 'di ba?" tanong ko.

"Don't worry about it. I can deal with it."

Napailing na lang ako sa sinabi niya. Hindi ako kumbinsido, pero wala rin naman akong magagawa dahil nangyari na.
