JOSH POV

"Josh...I'm so sorry, I know I fucked up. I should never have said the things I did. You were right, about everything. You've been right! I do need you. I'll always need you." She cries looking up at you, rain dripping from her coat.

What is going on?

You let out an exasperated sigh, realizing that she is upset after yet another fight with Danny. What else could you have been right about?

God damn it. I knew this was going to happen again. How many times is he going to fuck this up?

Her state this time is the worst you've seen yet. You can tell she has been crying for a while, her eyes are puffy and her face red and splotchy. You quickly grab her arm, pulling her in from the pouring rain, helping her take off the soaking wet coat.

Her last words replay in your mind, "I'll always need you." and you hope she means that.

"Oh god, what's wrong?" You ask desperately as she continues to cry, the sobs racking through her small frame even harder now.

You pull her in to you by her hands, wrapping your arms all the way around her. You feel her rigid posture soften a bit and can't help but feel good about that. You can tell she feels comfortable with you, and that's all you could hope for.

"I'm so sorry, Josh. About everything. I have messed this up since the beginning. It wasn't meant to happen this way. Everything is so fucked up." She says through her sobs.

"Oh, no...its okay....shhh shhh" you say, cradling her head against your shoulder.

I have to help her calm down, what the hell brought this on? This feels big.

"What happened? What's going on?" You ask.

"I'm sorry I said I didn't need you, I do need you. I always need you." She cries into your chest.

Fuck, she is really torn up about our argument today. Sure, I was mad in the moment, but I would never hold it against her.

"I'm here, I promise I'm here, just tell me why you're upset." You ask again.

She pulls away from you, trying to wipe her tears on her sleeve but it's no use. Her clothes are soaking wet and she is shivering. You hate seeing her like this. You just want to wrap her up in your arms and take all of the pain away.

"Actually, let's get you some dry clothes. I'll make you some tea, and then we can talk. Okay?" You ask, swiping your thumb across her cheek and collecting a tear that is rolling down.

She nods her head and follows you into your bedroom. You praise yourself inwardly for remembering to clean up earlier. You dig though your drawers pulling out a t-shirt and a pair of pajama pants.

"Here, the bathroom is right there. You go change and then meet me in the kitchen." You say, running your hand down her arm.

She disappears into the bathroom and you hear her turn on the faucet. A few minutes later she steps out of the hallway and into the kitchen. Your heart swells at the sight of your t-shirt hanging on her just right.

She looks amazing in my clothes. Like they were made to be worn by her.

"Almost done, just needs a few more minutes." You say gently, motioning to the kettle on your stovetop.
