Though I was filled to the brim with boiling hot liquid rage, now was not the time to release it all. I just wanted to get through the day, desperately. Malfoy's payback would be thought over later. We had finally reached the last portion of our detention.
"And for your last task you will wipe down the brooms that were used earlier today with these two cleaning solutions!" Professor Fleet had told us.
"You don't clean them with charms?" Draco said annoyed at the tedious task she had assigned us.
"Oh I do. You two will be cleaning it with this today." She gave him a smile with a hint of teacher sass, and tossed the supplies to him.
After a painful hour more of silence, save for the sounds of cleaning solution and brooms clacking around, we were finally free. It seemed we had made an unspoken agree to simply not speak at all as neither one of us cared for a word the other had to say.
Draco and I said our tender goodbyes which consisted of avoiding eye contact, not saying a word, and walking as fast as possible away from each other out of that section of the castle.
My friends had told me to meet them at dinner after detention. I went straight to the Great Hall, exhausted from the tedious tasks I had been doing for the past two and a half hours. Not to mention the flying from earlier.
I found my group except I didn't know where Fred was?
"He had something he had to take care of for a class. By the way can I take a closer look at your eyes?" George had responded and asked in return when I had inquired with unspoken curiosity communicated through my expression.
"Haha sure." I leaned forward for him to get a better look. A little confused as to the timing of him asking this, but more curious about what class would have Fred already doing something this late in the day, just after the first class. Must have been a crazy teacher.
I thought I had heard him mutter something under his breath, but I wasn't positive. I didn't have time to think on the interaction any further as everyone started to fill each other in on their first days. We shared our opinions on teachers, which were largely similar. Though Hermione's views differed from the group greatly. All the Professors were common and we were scheduled with them at different blocks of the day. Especially mine, for some reason I was scheduled with Slytherins for most of my classes, instead of my friends.
As we headed back to the common room, George pulled me away from the group. "I have something to show you" he said before speaking louder to the rest of the them.
"Hey we'll catch up with you guys later tonight!"
Padma lifted her eyebrow at me, and I returned my confusion with a shake of my head.
George was leading me back in the direction we had come from.
The idea that I was an object of Fred's interest, who had yet to be pranked had come up in my mind not just once as George lead me somewhere. "You know I can tell it's you George? You're not going to trick me by trying to suddenly act like you were Fred pretending to be you."
"Heiress you are a deeply mistrusting woman...but trust me if I wanted to..."
Suddenly I was pinned to the wall for a second time today. This time by my gay best friend whose expression suddenly morphed into a terrifyingly perfect mimic of Fred's lustful face above mine. It was perfect save for the little twinkle in the eye that marked one's attraction to me. Still it was more than enough for me to get caught up in the fantasy for a moment. I couldn't help but blush.
