He sways to the music pumping out of the speakers.

He bounces up and down as he sings out loud along with almost all the others around us. He's...

He's happy.

I helped get him here... Finally, we're here.

He looks stunning in his waistcoat. Silk button up tucked neatly into his black slacks...

His eyes, they way they shine in the dim, pulsing light of the dance hall truly reminds me of the cosmos. What I wouldn't give to dive in, and fall deeper in love with him.

...... In... Love.

I love him.
More than anything...

I've given up so much for a boy that doesn't even care for me like I care for him...

So... Why am I trying so hard?
Is there a reason?
A reason besides "I love him"?

...

After hours of dancing, and laughing... The music dies down, the beat slowing to a smooth, slow sad love song.

I feel his arms wrap around my neck, and I can help but to blush...

His eyes close and he leans a head against my shoulder as he sway slowly side to side. I watch him in awe... He's beautiful, so soft...

My hands slowly slide to his waist as I smile wide. I never want this moment to end...

And for another three hours, it doesn't...

Not even when the last person leaves and the clean up crew arrive in.

He's still here, in my arms...

And for once?

It isn't a dream.

"... James..." His voice is quiet. Emerald eyes darting up to meet my own.

"Yeah Vince?"

"... We should go... If we wanna make it to our senior trip, then... Well, we have to go.."

He smiles shyly, finally pulling away from my body, his hands moving to hold onto my shoulders.

In this moment, I couldn't care less about the class trip, or about where we're going...

My mind blanks, my body moves on it's own...

I lean down, into him... He doesn't move, he just watches.

I immediately stop myself from making contact, feeling my lips tremble as I begin to slowly back away.

"... I'm so sorry Vincent."
I mutter out quietly.
He opens his mouth to speak, but I cut him off before he could get a word out.

"We should... go."

And without another word, I was already halfway to the car, leaving him standing alone in the dance hall.

He didn't follow for a good two minutes, but soon he was in the passenger's seat beside me, and we were off.
