A few seconds can always change your life forever.

First second. You sent that text.
"Ill make the sky beautiful for you"
It said.

That text made his heart drop.

Within the next few seconds, your phone got spammed. It was messages from him.
"Pleaadyr dont lrave me" It said. It was always obvious when he was crying. His texts got messier.

The tenth second. Your chest hurt. It hurt from the emotional pain. Like it always had been. Since you were a child.

The eleventh second. You texted him "Goodbye, I love you. Handsome"
That was his favourite nickname.
"Was this too much?" You thought to yourself.
"I should've had i quiet death"
He didnt know what happened on the thirteenth second. But you did.

You threw your phone down the roof of the 4th floor. You didnt want anyone seeing your texts.

You slowly got on the roof. You were always afraid of heights. Being taller than most your age didn't help that fear.

Your socks were christmas themed. The half melted snow, looked so welcoming. You saw christmas decorations from other people's balconies. All so bright and colorful.

That was the thirteenth second.

But the fourteenth one?

You got the courage to let yourself slowly slide down the roof.

Tears were streaming down your face
"What am i doing?" You thought.

The fifteenth second was full of guilt.
"I should just jump now"

You did as your heart told you.

You jumped.

Falling down? It didnt take long.
For a second, you saw snow.
then it all went into a blur.
The lights on the streets looked weird.
Weirder than when you saw them from the roof.

You heard cars driving by, but none stopped.

That all happened within 18 seconds.
Death can be quick.
Thats what you always thought.
You thought you'd die as soon as your head would hit concrete.
But you didnt die.
You were left there.
With a bruised face, and broken bones.

Meanwhile, your so called "Handsome"
Was crying to his sister.
"Please drive me to her, please"
They drove there as quick as they could.
They arrived in 10 minutes.
He lived out of town.
You were still awake, though.

That was the 10th minute. The minuted before that were boring. Full of pain, and sobs.

You heard someone running up to you.
"Was it him?" you thought.
It was, indeed him.
He was there, with tears in his eyes.
He gently turned you so you could see him.
You were still lying on the cold, harsh concrete.

"Please dont leave me"
He sobbed into your chest.
His hands stained with blood.
You tried reaching to touch his cheek.
But your hands were too weak.

The eleventh minute.
The ambulance came.
His sister must've called.
And with that, You were now lying on a hospital bed. He was still by your side.

Day by day, your condition got worse. Turns out, one of your ribs went into your heart when it broke. You were bleeding internally.
You couldn't move. They couldn't do emergency surgery on you, as your body was too weak.

On the 5th day of being in the hospital, you received lots of gifts. From classmates, family, even family that you barely ever saw. Balloons and teddy bears filled your room.

But you were still dying. Why were they telling you to get better?

On the night of the 5th day, you felt weird.
Awfully tired.
You passed away that night.

He wasn't there by your side that night.
He had to study.

The hospital didnt mind calling him anyway.
You only saw your parents. Your selfish mother, crying at your bed.
You didnt feel guilt anymore.
You didnt feel anything anymore.
But was throwing away your life worth it?
