A Twist Of Fate

*Introduction*

America.

Hollywood, MTV and The Oscars. Washington. Political parties that seem to only agree in total disagreement. Junk food. Gay Marriage. The Hummer, and bankrupt automotive companies.

The Internet and the World Wide Web. Obama. World top-ranked universities. The American Dream. United Nations HQ. Nike. Cassius Clay aka Muhammad Ali. The light bulb and the telephone. Crayola. Big Bird and the rest of Sesame Street. American football.

'Soccer'. Talk Shows. CSI. Thanksgiving. Cowboys and the Wild West. Muscle cars. Open spaces. Baseball. Huge cities with skyscrapers. Liberty, freedom, and generosity to poorer nations.

To most Americans these are all taken as everyday things. But to the rest if the world, these are things that are truly...American. They put a smile on your face as you think, wow. How cool would it be to actually live in the US? Well, I guess I'm about to find out.

I'm Avery Matthews and I'm from Ireland. I've lived here all my life, all 17 years of it, but I'm moving. To America. The land of dreams, yeah? The land where anything can happen, and all your wildest fantasies can come true? Maybe so, but I still want to stay here, in cold, miserable Ireland. Not some small town in freakin' nowhere in the US.

I'm sorry. I don't hate America, in fact, I used to dream about living here when I was younger! I always wanted to go to a real American high school and experience America first-hand, instead of reading about it in books and watching amazing American adventures on tv and in films.

But when you hear the words 'Honey, we're moving to a place hundreds of miles from here' just when your life's starting to get good, it's bound to put you in a bad mood. Trust me, I know. Who wants to move when you're finally feeling good about where you live? Well, it's not my choice. America...wow...

Heeeeey!! :D okay, I've never written a story before, and I'm not sure if anybody's actually gonna read this but I might as well. I've always liked writing, and reading's one of my favourite hobbies!! So wattpad is amazing for me :)

I don't know know if this story's any good or if anyone will actually read it, but to be honest I don't mind that much, I just like writing it.

I started writing this 'cos I wanted to write something lighthearted and funny, and I hope this will be! Okay this is a long authors note so I'm just gonna say,
