Friday Evening

- 賑やかな街並み |<Bustling Streets>| . . .

You, a 14-year-old kid, were waiting for your parents to pick you up after you had just finished hanging out with your friends.

You waited patiently outside a mall, your friends just had been picked up one by one, and you were left alone with one of your friends. Suddenly, a car stood right in front of you two and the car window rolled down revealing it to be your friend's father. "Hey there, **** and o/n" He greeted with a smile on his face. You knew the man pretty well, he was a pleasant person to talk to and a very calm individual.

"Hello, sir" you greeted him back with a slight bow to show your respect. Your friend, also your classmate, smiled brightly at their father and looked at you. "Are you sure you don't want a ride back, o/n?" Your friend asked, clearly worried for your safety and well-being. "Yep, I'll be fine, I'm sure my parents will be here soon anyways" you reassured them with a smile.

Your friend hesitated but got into their car regardless. "I don't mind, o/n! I can always call up your parents that I'll be dropping you off" You smiled awkwardly while shaking your head. "No need, sir. I don't want to be a burden." You appreciated his offer, but you remembered your parents always reminding you to not trouble others. He looked at you for a bit before sighing. "You have good manners, o/n" He smiled at you, glancing at your friend who was on their phone. "****, why don't you say farewell to o/n before we go?" He asked, and your friend perked up, their gaze moving to you. "Ah! Yes, bye o/n! I'll see you next hangout, and be careful!" They said with a smile. Their father nodded at you in acknowledgment and the car window slowly started to go upwards as you saw the car slowly move away from sight.

As the car leaves, you let out a sigh as you stared at the sun that was descending from the skies and soon the moon will be its replacement for the next 24 hours.

"I just need to be patient." You muttered to yourself, standing in front of the mall that had many people going in and out each second. It was surely busy since the holidays are coming up. You were going to celebrate Christmas with your family and relatives, and you couldn't help but miss the savory flavor of warm food, baked and cooked by your grandma and mother, your mind started to waver and you couldn't help but feel your mouth watering.

Your mind about food got distracted as you could hear the honking of a car, you saw that it was your parents car, the car was a few blocks away, but you needed to cross the streets. You sighed at the fact you needed to cross your way over, but you had to.

Slowly, you looked left and right before starting to walk to the other block. You were walking pretty steadily and calmly since you didn't see any moving vehicles. And besides, who in their right mind wouldn't see a tall, human being in front of their eyesight? Unless the driver is drunk that is. Life may have been pretty bad to you, but surely they wouldn't be that bad to you, right?

Deep in thought, you abruptly realize a bright light just beside you that was getting brighter and brighter. You stopped dead in your tracks to turn to the side and saw a moving truck, your eyes widened, your body froze, you couldn't move, and—
