Chapter 9

Su Shen was in her office room at her house.  The same like last time she was busy  choosing the right person to hire for this 'job'. Just then a ding was heard from her phone. She picked it up and looked at the sender. Unexpectedly, it was from that young man Azumi.

Su Shen opened his message and read the content. It was a request to meet her along with a bunch of heart and smiley emojis. She raised her eyebrows "I didn't expect that he types this way" it's cute.

She responded 'Okay let's meet tomorrow 9 am' and sent it. She continued browsing some resume when suddenly an idea popped up from her mind. She stared at her phone and thought:

He might not be that bad

Su Shen decided to ask him about this tomorrow. She sent him another message ' Let's move it to 12 noon, I'll treat you to lunch'. Her lips arched and cleared her desk. She kept Azumi's resume and looked at the other resumes in her hand and coldly threw it at the shredder.

Azumi opened his eyes and found himself standing at an empty space. He looked around and spotted someone standing at the furthest end. "Hello? Where is this place?" He  cautiously approached the figure. As he got closer the vague figure started to clear and he saw someone he knew. Someone he missed and loved so much.

"Big brother?"  he walked closer until he was standing right in front of him. " Brother Azami is that really you?" tears were welling in his eyes. The young man in front of him looks very similar to Azumi. It's like looking at a mirror. The same eyes, hair, face shape, and height but the only difference between Azumi and his brother is the mole under Azami's eye. "Azumi how are you?"  he asked Azumi with a gentle smile. The moment he finished the sentence tears fell from Azumi's eyes as if a dam of welled up emotions finally broke down "I haven't been well and I miss you so much brother. Mom  is still sick and we need you" he was crying and hugged Azami so tight he almost cannot breathe.

After their father left them their mother fell sick. It was decided that Azumi will take care of their mother and Azami, as the older twin, will  find a job and earn money. Azumi tried to refute and suggested they switch roles but Azami was persistent so he had no choice but to stay home. Every day he worries about his twin's safety because like him he was also an omega.

Their father was the only alpha in their family so when he left them, coupled with their sick mother, they were in a very vulnerable state. Azami patted his back and took his hand. "Come with me I'll show you something" he pulled Azumi and walked along a trail full of dead grass. Azumi wanted to ask where they're going when a blinding light suddenly appeared and obscured his sight. He raised his hand to block the light. But the next thing he knew he was at the doorstep of a very familiar place.

He's eyes widened and his body started to shake. He could exactly remember this place, every inch of it. How could he not, this where his brother died. "Azami what are we doing here? We should stay away from here" Azumi's voice stammers as he pulled his brother's sleeve.

Azumi noticed something wrong and looked up at his brother. The gentle and handsome face of his brother was long gone and was replaced with a dreadful look. Blood was dripping from his forehead and neck. Azumi's eyes widened.

"Azumi why did you left me?" Azami got closer to his face. Some blood even dripped on Azumi's fingers."B-brother I didn't , I tried to help you but-" Azami pulled his arm and shouted at him "Why didn't you try to save?!". He was vigorously shaking Azumi and more blood was dripping from his eyes. Just then a loud gunshot was heard.

Azumi abruptly sat up from his bead. He was sweating so profusely that he's shirt was soaked. He wiped his face and breathed heavily.

Azumi knew in his heart that his brother would never think of him like that. Because the truth is when that thing happened he was actually the one that should've died but Azami jumped in to save him. Nevertheless, he can't help but blame himself for his death. He felt that if only he was strong he could've saved him, if he had thought of a way to get out they would've survived, if only he did his best his brother wouldn't have died.

He always thought the if Azami hadn't died then maybe he would've been able to provide their a mother a better life and pay for the expenses. Azami has always been the better twin. But when he died his mother's illness worsened and he was struggling to adjust with the new life without him.

He's emotions and pain were piled up inside him. He refused to show his mother what he really feels because he doesn't want her to worry about him. Outside he was tough and brave but only he knows that inside he was in pain and wanted a shoulder to cry on. He was like a child that needed to be comforted.
