New Beginnings

BEST...DAY...EVER

In the weeks that followed me receiving my powers I was able to help many people from burning buildings, suicide attempts, and car crashes. I was also able to hone my skills to the point that I could teleport anywhere within the city. As I was heading home from one of my training sessions that proved my bubble wouldn't let in air I was listening to the police radio in case there was anything I could help the authorities with. Soon after I discovered my gifts, the police radio, filled with constant chatter of some sort took place of the regular tunes that my friends listen to.

Before I got home a very strange report came across the wires. The police dispatcher was calling everyone to the Daily Bugle to help restrain a man dressed as a -- wait! What? A rhino. What is this Halloween? Anyway, I wanted action and now I got it no matter how odd or out of season this wacko was. I purposefully teleported a few blocks away from the scene so I could investigate at my own pace. Once I got to the scene though, I realized I could not investigate properly from the ground with such a police presence. I needed to find a good high place to survey the scene and damage this idiot was doing. I teleported to the top of the Daily Bugle after I made sure the spot I chose was out of view of the large police force that blocked me from doing anything. The scene was easily assessable from my new perspective. It seemed this guy was much more than just a guy in a Halloween costume, evidenced by the many flipped cars, dented light poles, and destroyed fire hydrants that lay in the wake of his speeding body. I have a very simply idea of how to stop him. If I teleported back to the ground without him noticing I made a bubble around that light pole then it might knock him out when he ran into it. Sounded like a decently solid plan. I mean my bubble IS unbreakable right? I reached the ground and the plan preceded without him noticing me. That is until I used my bubble. I was able to cover one of the cars in a bubble like I planned and he ran into it just as I expected. That is where the plan ended. When he ran into it it held strong... And so did he, but the hit really hurt. It felt like an uppercut from Rocky Balboa. I never faced a force THAT strong until now. He spun around furious. "WHO DID THAT?!?!?!", he roared.
"Who do you think, buddy? I'm the only one here.", I replied strong, only so I wouldn't pee my pants.
"Who do you think you are, boy?"
"I'm the guy that will stop you!"
He screamed in laughter. "You think YOU are gunna stop ME, the Rhino?"
"Oh so that's what you called yourself. I thought you were The Idiot in a Costume"
"Bad move, pipsqueak."
He charged me in a fit of pure rage.
"This is too easy", I thought, "I'm much faster than he is".
He got close and I teleported behind him and activated my bubble knuckles. I began to pound on his back. "THIS ISN'T DOING ANYTHING!!", my brain screamed. He whipped around, much faster than I expected, but lucky I dodged the what would be painful blow and quickly teleported high above him and let gravity take over as I went into a head first dive. When I reached about twenty feet above him I created a bubble around myself and used my body like an atomic bomb to try to inflict some major damage. This did not work. After a few seconds he realized what I was doing and stepped a few feet to the side. I slammed into the ground, unharmed, but that definitely wasn't one of my best hits. The main reason that was a bad choice was because he was now close enough to grab me by the leg, throw me in the air, and punt me down the street. After all that I slammed into a mailbox, which really hurt and stunned me. I then realized he was charging again, but this time I was defenseless. Rhino got really close, but then I heard the unmistakable sound I had heard many times in the movies. It was the sound of webs shooting from Spider-man's web-shooters. When I looked up Rhino was stuck in place and the guy I thought only existed in comics was offering me a hand up.
"hey kid, are you alright?"
"I will be, it feels like I may have from an a rib or two"
"Well, let's take out this brute first. You've struggled with him for long enough. Then, I know a really good hospital."
"How? I've tried everything I know."
"But WE haven't tried anything yet. Follow my lead."
He created a massive web ball and looked at me. "Armor up!"
I created one last bubble around his creation and held it strong as he swung it a couple of times before smacking the Rhino like a golf ball.
"Grab him please", he said.
I teleported into the path path of the human golf ball and waited until I could grab him. Once I did I teleported back to spidey with the stunned villain.
"Time to finish this.", he said. As he began to pummel Rhino with amazing speed.
"Come on man."
I armored up and assisted in the assault. After a few heavy hits we backed up. He webbed my legs and spun me around. It felt like the best park ride ever, but I had to stay focused on the target. He released the web, and I went speeding toward the Rhino. I landed a solid hit that knocked him out.
"Good job, kid."

"Th-Thanks, Spidey"

"What's your name man?"

"Al-"

"Whoa, whoa never tell your real name. What's your super hero name?"

"I don't have one."

"We'll have to work on that."

"WE? So you're not just gunna leave?"

"Nope. I told you I know the best hospital. Fury, will know what to do with you."

"Wait! Fury, like Nick Fury?"

"The one and only. We're headed to the helicarrier, kid"

"What do you mean he'll know what to do with me?"

"Well, I can't make any promises, but you have real potential. I'd like to see you on the team. You still have a lot to learn, but you did good today."

"But I wasn't able to stop him alone. I wasn't strong enough to stop him."

"That's why you need training...and a team. There are many times I can't even handle a bad guy on my own without my team."

With that the two were off to a place Jason had only seen in comics and his wildest fantasies.
