With a tiny tear in both eyes, she looked at herself in the magenta mirror. The tears creapt slowly down her face allowing the wave of feelings to overrule her and the noises she was ommitting - to fill the room with pain. Mia's past wasn't something that she liked to look back on. Her problems weren't huge, but they were hers.
The past week had been long and tiring with no ending in sight, but now it was Monday again. Mia was now standing in her bathroom wearing her thick black school jumper (which prevented the wind from envelloping her- on her long treck to to school), her black pleated skirt and tights. Although, Mia disliked her apperance, she hated getting told-off even more and so she never wore make-up to school, finally, her rare red hair was in curls hanging loosly over her left shoulder.
She took one last look at herself in the mirror before walking out of the bathroom. Grabbing her phone off of her bedroom side, she looked at her texts to find a message from Luke, 'Hey, good morning' as she read the message a small smile slowly started to appear on her face, replying to the text as she skipped down the stairs she said 'Good moring to you too xx'.
Almost instantly a response came through 'how are you this morning beautiful?' she felt butterflies appear in her stomach, no-one was able to convince her she was pretty, but when he said it she couldn't help but smile and feel happy about herself. Picking up her lunch and shoving it in her bag she started to respond when her phone rang.
'Good morning baby, I needed to hear your beautiful voice before school' Mia could almost hear the smile in his voice.
'I've missed hearing your voice! How are you today?' she replied while putting on her coat and matching scarf and glove set.
'I'm good how are you?' he answered, he had clearly already set off for school as you could hear his feet walking on the snow in the background.
'I'm tired and not looking forward to the rest of the day... and yet talking to you has made me so happy' she mumbled through her scarf as the cold air hit her face. Luke laughed slightly.
'I miss you baby, I wish I didn't have to go to school, i'd love to be able to talk to you all day!'. Grinning like a three-year-old, Mia walked around the large ice-patches on the cold ground beneith her.
'That would be amazing...' she trailed off not knowing what else to say. Although, neither Luke nor Mia were talking it was nowhere near an 'awkward' silence, it was perfect, there was nothing to worry about and no need to talk, it was just amazing that they could be there for one another.
'As much as I hate to leave you, you're probably already at school, so i'll talk to you later!' Mia looked shocked as she took in her surroundings and realised he clearly knew her better than she knew herself. She had no-clue she was stood just outside the entrance of the school.
'I'll miss you, but I can't wait to talk later, bye - have a nice day'.
'I'll miss you more!' he said 'hope you have a nice day too', with that they both put the phone down. Mia sighed as she threw her hair back over her shoulder and started to make her way up to the entrance of the school.
(AN- I just wanted to give a quick explanation as to what the very first bit is about, basically 'Mia' was hurt by another online guy a little while ago who led her on and then started being mean to her. Luke is one of his friends and didn't like what he did to her- thats how 'Mia' and 'Luke met.
I was going to go into more detail but couldn't bring myself to write about it right now, however, I do plan on coming back and writing more about it in the future).
