(Ulquiorra's POV)
"I'm so sorry Orihime... Please forgive me..." I gasped out. She looked at me, tears welling up in her eyes. Then she did something I wish I could have returned. She bent forward and pressed her lips against mine.
Was this a... kiss? Whatever it was, it felt right. I put my arms over her torso and pressed her closer to me. I was aware of how cold I was with her body pressed against mine. I ran my hand through her soft hair, and for some reason, I could feel her shaking.
"It's alright..." I whispered in her ear.
"It's not fair..." She placed her head on my chest, directly over my heart. I continued to run my fingers through her hair, but even that was making me exhausted. It wasn't long now.
"Stay..." I whispered again
After a moments hesitation, she whispered back, "Always."
She kissed me again, her lips warm against mine. I rested the hand that was running through her hair on her back, too exhausted to even move my fingers. My head fell onto the ground, pulling me reluctantly away from her kiss. My body felt heavy, as if I was underwater. My eyesight became blurry, until all I could see was Orihime's face. Everything began to fade slowly. The pain of my wounds became too heavy a burden to bear, and I gave up to darkness.
