Chapter 1

Rudraksh arrives in Sharda's room. He is wearing a dark blue suit with black pants. Sharda is asleep and Preesha is sitting beside her.

Rudra: How is Ma now?

Preesha: Sharda Aunty is fine. Her sugar was low because she did not eat.

Rudra: Ma too is so careless. She knows she is sick. She got so busy planning the party that she did not take care of herself properly.

Preesha: Anyway, what are you doing here? Why did you leave your party?

Rudra: Ma's health is more important than the party is. It is not as if this is the first time that I am winning "Singer of The Year" award and definitely not the last time.

Preesha: You just go down. I will be here with Sharda Aunty.

Rudra: I don't want to go. You know, its not fun without you, yaar.

Preesha: Okay. I'll come down after checking Sharda Aunty's sugar. Now go.

Rudra: You better come.

Rudraksh goes downstairs to the party and sits at the bar next to his friend, Bunty.

Bunty: How is Chachiji now?

Rudraksh: She is ok.

Bunty: So, did you speak to Preesha?

Rudraksh: No. I'll tell her once she comes down.

Bunty: Are you sure you're ready?

Rudraksh: I guess. All I know is if I delay it any further, I may never tell her.

Elsewhere, Mahima is busy enjoying the party and talking to her friends.

Mahima: Is it true that Mr. and Mrs. Chabbra are getting divorced because Mr. Chabbra had an affair with the driver's daughter?

She does not notice when Saaransh arrives.

Saaransh: Mama! Mama!

Mahima: What is it? Why are you irritating me? Can't you see that I am busy talking to my friends.

Saaransh: Mama, I'm feeling hungry.

Mahima (sighs): Waiter! Take him and give him something to eat.

The waiter takes Saaransh but gets distracted when someone else calls him.

Preesha comes down from Sharda's room and Rudra walks towards her.

Rudra: I have something important to tell you.

Preesha: What is it?

Rudra: Not here, let's go to the poolside.

Whilst they are walking, Saaransh walks to Preesha.

Saaransh: Maasi, I'm hungry.

Preesha: Okay dear, let's get something for you to eat. Rudra, I'll just feed him and come.

Rudraksh: Okay

Rudraksh goes back to the bar.

Bunty: What happened? Weren't you supposed to talk to Preesha?

Rudra: She's busy feeding Saaransh. The longer this is taking, the more nervous I am getting.

Suddenly, everyone goes quiet as Mahima can be heard shouting.

Rudra and Preesha run up to her room where they find her in tears.

They are shocked to see Rajeev in bed with his secretary, Ahana.

Preesha: Akka, calm down.

Mahima: How can you expect me to calm down? Just look at them!

Preesha: I think you should come home with me. Go and pack some of your clothes  and you, Rajeev Jija, I didn't expect this from you. You were such a good friend to me and you always said how much you love Akka.

Rajeev: I do love Mahima! Please try to understand.

Preesha: If you love Akka, then what is all this? Nothing you say can justify your actions.

Rajeev: Yes, Preesha, I admit that I am wrong, but Mahima is also at fault. She never gives time to me and my son.

Preesha: I can't believe that you're actually blaming Akka for what you did! I'm leaving!

Rudra: I'm really disappointed, bhai.

Rudraksh and Preesha storm out of the room.

Preesha speaks with Mahima.

Preesha: Are you ok?

Mahima: I'll be fine.

Preesha: Okay. I need to check on Sharda Aunty, then we can leave.

Preesha goes up to Sharda's room and sees Rudra there.

Preesha: I came to check on Sharda Aunty.

Rudra: Ma was awake just now. She took all her tablets, so don't worry.

Preesha: Okay. Please don't tell her about what happened today. Unnecessary stress is not good for her.

Rudra: I know. Anyway, I still need to talk to you.

Preesha: Can we talk tomorrow? A lot has happened today that I still need to process.

Rudra: I understand. Good night.

Preesha: Good night. Also, tell your brother that Akka has decided to get a divorce.

Preesha leaves with Mahima to go home.
