Glimpse of the Past (short story)

Deja Vu

He was patiently waiting at the bus stop. It was cold and gloomy day, so every student who passed by are wearing sweaters and pants. It's already 6:50 in the evening and the bus bound to his place is getting few. He can hear the wind blowing into his ears and it seems like it comforts him. He feel scared and bothered because his biggest fear is about to trigger. There was a long steel bench with new renovated roof, colored with green. The whole place was in twighlight and its about to look dark. The place smells like earth because it just rain, its been a long while since it happened. The sound of the rain drops on the roof is all he can hear. This is the place where he can sit after a long day in school while waiting for the bus. His name is Ethan. He is introvert, Ethan always go to school wearing headphones and he doesn't want to be in crowded places. He's already at his 1st year in college taking a course of law after graduating Bachelor of Science in Accountancy because Ethan always dreams to become a lawyer. He's kind and caring to everyone. Ethan is the one of a genius student in class and also he's the most handsome around the school campus. But beside of that Ethan hates seeing his love ones crying and suffering in pain, he lose control with himself. Ethan admire sunset so much but his scared of endings and goodbyes He has a fear of rain cause by his childhood. He doesn't like rain. When his parent die Ethan is just 7 years old and that day it was raining and he witness everything that happened. Ethan always blame himself when he remembered what happened that day. Since that day Ethan always panic when he hear a drop of water on the roof. He always lock himself in a soundproof room wearing his headphones. This is the only place that can make him feel safe and can calm him. Mr Rain man, he always try to hide when its raining and wanted to keep himself lock. Ethan always feel tense and feel scared when it's raining. Today he is still outside and the rain was about to happened.

On the bench adjacent their was a girl also sitting wearing a beige trouser and white t-shirt printed with a statement "Their was a rainbow after the rain", she's holding a black tote bag. Her name is Mariah. She is extrovert, Maraiah love being the center of attention. She has a golden voice to sing in front of everyone. Maraiah is a selenophile, moon is the best view for her. Aiah is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Engineering. Now she's working at the Recurrence company and she also studying again taking a course of law in University of the Philippines. Aiah always look so clean wherever she go, her hair always tied up. Aiah love flowers especially sunflower. She's a soft hearted girl but when you look at her, people first impressions with her is snob girl but she's really not that type of girl. Aiah love night time but she's scared of darkness. She hates being asked repeatedly, Aiah easily get annoyed because of it. Aiah was about to cry when she heard people talking about families.

Ethan wanted to go home badly. He didn't have a choice but t stay their. Because the bus still didn't arrive after his long wait. The rain was heavy and he was shivering on the corner of the bench holding his black jacket. Maraiah came closed to him to ask what's happening.

"Are you okay?" she asked

Ethan didn't answer, so instead of asking him repeatedly and asking a obvious answer. Aiah gave a comfort words.

"You will be okay just hold my hands"
"You know my dad always told me that after the rain rainbow will always appear, so you will be fine" Aiah
said

Aiah rub Ethan back while saying those words. Ethan already calm after hearing those comfort words.

"I'm already okay, thank you so much" Ethan say while his wiping the tears that fall into his face.

The rain already stop and Ethan finally feel better. They talk for a minute and Ethan shared why his scared of rain. Aiah feel so bad for him. The rain already stop and the bus already arrive. Aiah gave him an umbrella before he enter the bus.

"I hope you will find your umbrella" Aiah said

Ethan smiled while saying

"I think I already found her".

Aiah wake up early in the morning with a pretty smile on his gorgeous face. She fix her self before going to his dad company. She work their as a lead engineer in one of an experimental project. The company of his daad is Recurrence company. This company tries to let the person go back in past but this will only work if the heart and the intention of the person is pure. After Aiah leave the company, she enter the rest room and face the rectangular mirror saying to her self that
"Today is the day" she said with a happy face.

It's March 9,2047, its already 6:40 in the evening and she needs to arrive at the place around 6:50 pm. Aiah need to make sure that Ethan will be able to ride bus no. 0729. Aiah prepare everything that she will need like a jacket, scarf, water, handkerchief and most important thing is the purpe folding umbrella. Aiah arrive at the place at exactly 6:50 pm. She saw Ethan on the bench adjacent. Everything was like deja vu. After the heavy rain the bus no. 0729 already arrive. She gave the umbrella to Ethan and saying the magic word again

"I hope you will find your umbrella" she say

Before Ethan enters the bus he smile

"I think I already found her" he said

When Ethan step on the bus Aiah said something with a perfect smile

"You will share it with someone and that is her dad" she said, whil she's pointing on the girl that sleeping on side of the bus window.

That girl was the most important person in her life because she's the person who brings out her in this beautiful world.
