You played with the tips of the paper before hushing it away, tucked tightly and hidden in your fist so that you were sure you'd never lose it.
Once the bell had rang, you and everyone else (only then did you realize that you were mixed in with people of different grade levels) scurried back like rats to the classrooms, though you had absolutely no clue where you were going, you saw the poster you were sure you saw on your walk down before realizing that there were multiple copies of them plastered all around and trying to use them as a checkmark was a bad idea. So you opted to just follow your lunchmates up the stairs.
You paused. Didn't lunchmates sound a bit too...awkward?
Well, there's no time to think about it now, especially because you're suffocating in a sea of pretty students. At least you were hanging onto the very few faces you knew like a buoy with a death grip.
Except that when you'd looked to your left, that sense of security washed away, shattered in an instant when you realized Xion wasn't next to you. Just like the fantasy of high grades before you saw your actual report card. No worries, you just looked ahead of you and you were sure to catch Axel's bamboo stick stature stick out from the crowd.
Except you didn't.
You blinked.
Oh shit.
To your right, no one.
Something settled into your stomach with a tight grip that crunched and stretched it inside out.
Behind you, no one.
You curled your hand into a fist. It's warm.
To literally any other angle direction humanly possible to man, no one.
You turned around and took a few steps backward, following the instructions of the pounding voice screaming in your head to get the fuck out of there right then, right now.
Suddenly, you weren't sure what you were doing anymore.
As your feet grew cold and were mixed in with the sweat in your socks, you weren't sure if you should just start awkwardly laughing in the middle of the hallway or fall to your knees and relieve that headache of yours by dramatically crying like there was no tomorrow. Or maybe just do both in quick succession.
Maybe, just maybe if you closed your eyes for a bit then open it right back up, then maybe someone would magically appear and lead you on your way back like a magical knight in shining armor. Even if it was one like Riku, you'd take it anyway.
"[Name]?"
That was quick.
You turn your head, finding an unamused blonde-haired boy a couple of people ahead of you who hadn't been there before with a bit of sweat running down his face which looked like he'd been in a frenzied hurry.
"What the hell were you doing walking the other direction?" Roxas narrowed his eyes as if you've done something stupid.
Granted you did, it didn't take a genius to figure out that walking back to the cafeteria wasn't the brightest move you could make while trying to find a classroom.
Yeah, why the hell were you doing that?
"Uh- got lost," You say loudly but not to an extent for it to be considered shouting, feeling stupid.
The frown on his lip widens, shaking his head, he sighed, "Come here dumbass," You bit your tongue. "Yeah, sure thing," You mumble as you muddle your way through, bumping into a few people every hear and then before you get to him. Once you're there, you notice that Roxas moved a bit towards you too from his original position. He shook his head, "Just keep your eyes on me, and prepare,"
