People never seem to value the true passion of human love. The statement of “For you I was a chapter, for me you were the book." perfectly portrays the slow downfall of human emotion.
It is common for you to hear of a break up or divorce these days, showing the true depth of an emotionless void we ourselves are constructing.
This very quote explains how, in a relationship, the narrator’s love was deemed as a mere “chapter” while they truly loved their partner as the full “book”.
When reading, many people tend to only value certain parts rather than the full story illustrated. This is similar to relationships nowadays, as people simply flip through one another, never truly grasping the deeper meaning of love.
The deep imbalance in priority is what throws off many relationships, and should be addressed throughout society. The underlying meaning of this quote begs the question of what our moral values are. This saying brings to attention the complex tangle of human emotion and connection and how some play small roles and others play more important roles in each of our lives.
