Bryce
When I heard that dad had been seeing a woman I hate to admit it but I threw a fit, I mean how could I not have. We were in a family meeting that we have on Wednesdays to spend time and Axel had to hold me back from smashing everything in sight. Any woman who probably wants an old man like my dad just needs money. Mom's been gone for years but it always is going to hurt, no matter how much they fought she was still by his side for years. My blood boiled even thinking about how he decided to keep this information from us until 2 weeks before the wedding.
Furthermore he said that me and axel had to come and meet her to pay respect. I had been smoking off the hook once I found this out and no matter how much my little sister Julie tried to talk me out of it, I just shut her away. Once we got in the car dad started telling me and Axel about how this woman had a daughter and how i should be nice and not scare her away. I just rolled my eyes at his comments. When we got to the place the apartment looked 'okay' , it wasn't great, it wasn't bad, and it didn't look too old either. When we got out of the car there was a pricey looking BMW that left the building, so maybe i made the wrong assumption of the mystery woman being a gold digger?
Didn't really matter since my issue was mainly with my father. When we got to the house and rang the doorbell a couple of times a small lady finally opened the door, she looked like she was in her late 40's and looked extremely tired like she had just woken up "Aiden?" she exclaimed looking very confused, did this bastard not even tell her we were coming.
Axel
Seeing this woman in her late 40's looking tired and confused really made me feel bad. She stood maybe at 5 '4 and had curly black hair and black eyes which were half closed. I could feel Bryce's irritation which was practically radiating off of him. "Uhm dad, did you not inform this lovely lady that we were coming for a visit" i voiced and with that almost like she was shocked "oh my look at me, I'm so sorry i didn't even realize that today was the day. I was thrown an extra shift last minute" she said quickly while ushering us inside the small apartment. When we stepped in she guided us to the hall where we sat in the soft and worn sofas. She quickly excused herself to the kitchen to make tea despite our protests for her to sit down.
Bryce was looking all over the house, probably picking it apart in his mind. My eyes drifted to the colorful drawings that littered the walls, some of misshapen animals and some truly eye catching pieces that were framed. "Looks like t.j has some real talent" dad called from his seat. The small woman emerged from the kitchen holding a tray of pretty floral teacups smiling "I know, she used to be so passionate about her drawings and she even used to sculpt" she rambled on. All i could think about was that name t.j, sounds kinda weird for a girl.
Just as she stepped forward we heard the door rattle clearly someone was trying to unlock it. That's when a girl even smaller than her popped in with a man who rivalled mine and Bryce's height. Putting two and two together means that this was probably t.j. Considering her mom had her mouth open upon seeing her.

After dad and Ax shook t.j's hand and it was my turn I was able to get a good look at her. I had to look down at her, she probably was 5'2 her hair was pure black, wavy and fell midway down her back. Her brown skin was glowing as her beautiful big eyes met mine. I felt like she could read me like a book but I know that she probably is only going to remember me by scent, great.
After we all introduced ourselves she quickly scurried away to her room and came out with a heavily decorated laptop before bidding us goodbye. Once we all settled in, a little more conversation picked up. "She took that way better than I thought she would've," dad said, "I think it's mostly because I broke the news to her in the morning so she's had some time to think about it "Angeline said with a weak smile. I guess both of them kept it from us, how cowardly.
"So what did she say about moving in?" my dad said. Although I'm the one who's normally known for having extreme reactions, Axel's head snapped around and gave dad the most sour look possible. "She didn't take that part too well haha, she said she'd move into a studio apartment down the road if i decide to move" Angeline said dryly. "This is the first I'm hearing about moving" said Ax in a stern voice while dad gave him a look indicating that we were to talk about it in private.
"I'm so sorry boys, this must be a huge shock and I completely understand any hatred or bitter feelings you have for me. I wanted to wait until I could face all your siblings together but I just want you to know that I have no intention of being your mother unless you want me to and just know my arms will always be open" Angeline said while slightly bowing her head.
Axel
After we said our goodbye and watched dad flirt with Angeline we walked back to the car not saying a single word.
The air was stiff, no one uttering a word. Fine, I might as well bring it up. "Asking them to move in? Do we even have rooms? We don't even know them! How could you just do this to us? Have you even thought about the rest of us?" I bombarded my dad with questions. He looked me straight in the eyes and let out a sigh "Axel, I understand you're upset but I found someone who makes me happy. She loves me and I love her so i want her to be with me, i want to give her the world she deserves and her daughter as well". My mouth was open "do we not make you happy enough" "don't morph my words boy" dad said with a hardened face. I let out a sigh and looked out the window, nothing I said was going to change the outcome. If anything now I'm more worried as to why Bryce isn't saying a word.

I was laying on Ash's bed thinking about our interaction when he came bursting in with a pitcher of punch, a plate of sandwiches and cups placing them on a small table close to the bed. "Aren't they like abnormally hot?" Ash said, pouring himself a cup of juice. "They are super tall," I added while staring at the ceiling "Aiden seems weird somehow" "maybe it's intuition" Ash added "just be careful T". "Call me crazy but you could smell the smoke on Bryce right?" i asked "yea! It was so strong, I noticed the second we stepped into the house but I figured that you wouldn't have gotten the smell in" Ash exclaimed. "I wonder what mom has gotten me into"
