"So what mom? It's just a dream catcher. Not like it's going to kill me. Though I wish it was 100 bucks."

"So do I." She whispered under her breath.

We stayed silent for what felt like forever until mom broke the silence again. 'Well, you better go hang it up in your room. " She sighed. "Better to start when your supposed to instead of later, God only knows what would happen."

I laugh "What, will Grandma strike you down with lighting?"

She forces a laugh, and starts pulling at her shirt like she always does when she is nervous. "Well go upstairs, dinner will be ready in a few.

"Okay..." I stare at her for a few seconds, wondering what is gong on, but she doesn't seem to notice, so I go upstairs and hang it up on my headboard. Just then my phone vibrates.

Message from Carter: Hey, when is your party again? My dog ate my invitation... again.

I laugh and send back.

Of course Mango did, One week from today, July 8th, 6-whenever. Bring a movie and sleeping bag.

I hit send then a few seconds later it vibrates again.

Got it, can't wait!

I sigh and flop on my bed and start messing with the mint green sheet until something shiny catches my eye. I look up to see what it is but see nothing there. I shug and go over to my computer and open up my pictures. There are some of food, some of the woods that made up my old backyard, and a bunch of me and Carter.

It has been killing me not seeing or talking to her in person in three months. Part of me is still upset over this stupid move. I get that my mom got a better job, I just wish she would have let me stay with Carter.

I get to the picture of us with our hair braided together. Her brown hair intertwined with my blonde to a silver blue ombre hair. I laugh at how silly we look. Trying to look Tumblr, all mysterious. Instead we look like children who got yelled at. I go to the next one and it is her and I doing yoga poses. Our classmates- her classmates- used to say that we were friendship goals. We would just laugh at them.

"Lexi-pop," my mom calls. Something has to be up, because she hasn't called me that since I was ten. "Dinner!"

"Okay! Coming." I decide to change out of my sweatpants and tank top and put on a skater skirt and crop top so mom doesn't say I look like like a slob at the dinner table and it's disrespectful.

"Alexis!" My mom sings my name. "Sometime this century please."

I skip down the stairs and find another set of stairs.

"Mom?" I call out, but there is no answer. I carefully walk down the second set until I hear a heavy breathing being me.

I turn around and see a strange figure, almost like a shadow.

"What is going on?" I ask it. Before I know what happened it was two inches away from my face.

"Welcome to The Otherworld." It whispers, then pushes me down the stairs.
I wake up screaming.
