We found ourselves on a meadow, an infinitely vast, lush green flower meadow. The sun beamed warmly and brightly, gently tickling my face. A light summer breeze brushed along my arms, almost as if it wanted to caress me. The meadow smelled of wild flowers; I could sense the sweet fragrance of violets, the calming breath of lavender, the invigorating, flowery scent of a beautiful rosy lilac, and a wonderful combination of various scents from different wild meadow flowers, all mingling in the most splendid season on this clearing.
My face was adorned with a deep smile as I closed my eyes, savoring the delightful scent of summer and the pleasant warmth on my skin. Suddenly, I felt a gentle touch on my right hand, and my heart skipped a beat. I blinked and looked down at my arm. His fingers were slowly gliding along the back of my hand. An excited shiver traveled from my fingertips through my entire body, culminating in my heart. I sighed softly, relishing the warmth now emanating from within me.
"Mmm," he uttered, and a smile crept onto his face. I glanced up briefly, meeting his sparkling gray-blue eyes, which were also fixed on me. He tried to suppress his smile, giving him a slightly mischievous, impish expression, and adding two tiny, adorable dimples right next to the corners of his mouth.
Around us, birds chirped harmoniously, as if they were part of a joint concert. The fragrant lilac to my left hosted swarms of fantastically colored butterflies: deep red, snow-white, canary yellow, sky blue, violet, and light green hues merging into a painted masterpiece of nature. Some of these butterflies seemed to have lost their way into my stomach, as it felt like a few individual, light butterfly wings fluttered about, causing a nearly imperceptible, gentle tingling. Our gazes still met, and his hand continued to rest against my hip. Carefully, I took his hand in mine, observing his reaction. The mischievous expression slowly gave way to a genuine, joyful smile. I felt a slight blush creeping onto my face and averted my eyes from his. In response, he took a step forward, closer to me. With our hands intertwined, only our arms remained between us, and there was no gap left.
Suddenly, he grinned with a mischievous sparkle in his eyes, pushing me away, causing me to land on the green meadow with a loud crackling sound. Unfortunately, the beautiful flowers didn't cushion my impact as much as I would have liked. Nevertheless, after a brief moment of surprise, I burst into laughter because right after his unexpected attack, he was ambushed by two butterflies, as if seeking to avenge my fall. They flew towards him, nudged him, created distance, and initiated another dive. As much of a dive as butterflies could manage.
"How cute," I laughed, trying to grab one of his legs to bring him down to the ground as well. But he willingly surrendered, defeated by an admiral and a swallowtail, and laughed while lying down next to me on the ground. "Alright, alright," he chuckled, "I give up!"
