chapter 4

Heidi's pov:

I saw the president whisper something into kunikida's ear before we left to check out what the explosion was all about.

The both of us stepped foot outside the cafe only to see firetrucks speeding by to the right side of the agency. We followed the route to see where the explosion took place and Sure enough it led us to a building in the next street.

It was chaos everywhere. The firetrucks were trying to put out the fire on the building using water but for some reason they couldn't. It was like the fire had some kind of resistance to water. The water would put the fire out only for it to come back in a few seconds.

We were both confused on what was happening. Kunikida took a guess "i think this might be some kind of ability" "It could be Or the attackers could have used a special lighter fluid" I replied. "I guess your right to" he said.

Somewhere near we could hear a voice. A voice filled to the brim with agony, yelling at the firefighters holding them back, back from entering the burning building. The person who was the owner of the voice was yelling "let me go! Let go! Please my partner is in there! Please".
It was clear to both me and kunikida that the firefighters were not making a move to save the person who was stuck inside the building, We didn't know why tho.

Kunikida and I decided that whatever the reason was can wait for llaterBecause we needed to get the man out of the building.

The both of us entered through the backdoor, since the front was blocked by the firetrucks. Kunikida gave me the instructions as we made a run for the backdoor. The instructions were
"I would be talking the ground and first floor and kunikida would run up the stairs to get to the second and third floors. We would check the floors and rush out as soon as we are done".

Kunikida counted to 3 and burst the door open. He made a run to the stairs and I couldn't help but stare at him and get lost in him for the movement before I snap back to reality, remembering the important task at hand of saving a life. I ran to check the entire floor. My boots clattered again the wet floor as I headed toward the stairs so that I could get to the first floor. The stairs were destroyed almost as soon as I walked up them. "Well looks like exiting is going to be harder than I thought" I said to myself as I continued to search for the person on the first floor.

I got to the last room and saw a figure lying on the floor. There was a wooden plank on him and there were also burn marks on his body but they didn't look too serious. They spoke softly as they noticed me " Help me please ".

I rushed over and lifted the plank of his body and carried him towards the window in the room, I managed to open it. The only way out was through the window, so I climbed out and jumped. I was sliding my feet against the wall of the building to minimize the impact of my fall.

Within the matter of a second I had jumped and I landed on the ground.
In front of me was a surprised kunikida.i stood there for a minute or so lost in his eyes before I was enterupted by him clearing his throat.
He yelled at me " What are you waiting for hurry up and talk them to the agency". Once again I had forgotten the task at hand because of him. I nodded and immediately rushed the person to the agency.

Tired was an understatement. The person was treated by the agency's doctor miss yosano. It seems like they are okay just unconscious at the moment. Kunikida had stayed to inform the person's partner and returned a few minutes ago.

He was standing next to me his weight shfited on one leg, arms crossed and tapping his feet on the ground waiting for miss yosano to exit the operating room so that he could get some info on the person's condition. Speaking of info on the person it turns out that they are a man named James and the person's partner was a woman whose name is jade.

Miss yosano finally exited the operation room. I was trying my best to listen and pay attention to what she was saying but I couldn't, everything around me was getting blurred and I couldn't hear anything aswell until it all went black.
