I desperately need to find a way out; this cannot be the end. Victory was supposed to be mine in this twisted game, but pain wraps around me like a shadow. Still, I can't let it defeat me. I must buy time; there has to be some solution, some strategy that will allow me to escape this nightmare.I plead in my mind, "Please, don't take my life... let me live. I'll reveal everything I know about the names on that list."
He hovers over me, his penetrating eyes never leaving mine.
"I don't want to."
Disbelief overwhelms me. How is it possible that he doesn't want to? There has to be a way to stop him. Patrick Jane is not a killer; I can convince him to stop.
"I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!"
My apologies are abruptly interrupted when I feel his hands tightening around my neck.
"Shhh... I want you to blink once for no and twice for yes... Do you feel remorse for ending the lives of my wife Angela and my daughter Charlotte?"
I blink twice, desperately trying to communicate my regret.
"Are you afraid of death?"
Again, I blink twice.
"Excellent..."

"Kurenai-Kun, have you seen Ayanokoji-Kun?"
The voice echoing in the hallway belongs to Suzune Horikita. Though her words are direct and simple, their potential for development makes them an invaluable tool in this complex situation.
"He's sleeping inside the classroom, Horikita," I respond without hesitation. I don't even receive a thank you before she departs. I used to believe that the Japanese maintained a deeply rooted culture of refined manners, but now that perception seems less relevant.
Changing the subject, although I've always feared death, if I were to admit it now, this world seems more bearable. A world without "him" may be more monotonous, but I can always find more controlled fun.
And what better than being able to fully control the creation of my own entertainment?
That young man mentioned by Horikita, Ayanokoji, will be one of my long-term distractions, but for now, it's essential to maintain an impeccable reputation. I am no longer just Thomas McAllister; now, I present myself as Akira Kurenai, an intelligent and outstanding student.
But changing the topic, you must be wondering what happened after Patrick took my life. The truth is, I simply woke up.
I opened my eyes as if it were all just a simple dream, but it wasn't a peaceful awakening in my mother's arms. All I saw was blood until the doctor finally cleaned my face.
After that, life continued normally, like the everyday life of a child. Some smiles here, others there. Just smiling faces.
Turns out, this world is almost as corrupt as mine, with the difference that the Japanese government is a fly compared to the American one. Apparently, the Japanese, though neat and seemingly perfect, also have their eccentricities and are more susceptible. It's easy to make them cross the line, if I may say so.
Although it also has its downside; in Japan, there are almost no crimes. So imagine the surprise of television channels and the police when they discovered the first smile.
Afterward, I did the usual... add mystique. Like the journalist who claimed I was a narcissistic sexual predator, even though I had a cute family. Or the prosecutor who announced that he had caught me. Ha!
But not everything was Red John; I also gave Akira Kurenai a convincing backstory. A model student, a total genius with a strong sense of justice who dreams of becoming a police officer someday and even helps the police as a consultant in his free time.
He even tried to contribute to the Red John case, but one day, returning from school with some friends, he found his parents dead in their room, murdered by Red John.
I just finished watching 'The Mentalist' and wanted to try... Although I was wondering whether to use Red John or Patrick. Tell me your opinions and suggestions.
