It was something about watching him sleep that you absolutely loved. You figured it was probably because he rarely would ever do the simple act due to his neverending battle with insomnia. Your heart would break at the times you'd see him clearly exhausted after a video shoot or after being couped up in the studio for hours and he couldn't seem to unwind his body to rest.

"You need to get proper rest baby. You're so tired" you'd say to him, sounding like a broken record at times. This has been a recurring issue for him for years since the two of you first started dating. Now that you were married, it seemed as if his insomnia had gotten much worse. Stress was definitely a familiar trigger. You knew he was under a lot of that recently. The nasty battle he was having with his record label wasn't resolving and they were constantly on his ass about the deadline for his upcoming album. They wanted him to do another world tour and while you completely understood, he basically said to hell with that idea. He was done with touring especially after HIStory when he had gotten sick with the flu as well as laryngitis and you were pregnant with your first child. You barely saw each other and when it was time for the birth of your son, he literally had to haul ass from the filming of his short film to make it to the hospital in time. Even though he still adored music, he just wanted to finally take a much needed break.

He had missed out on some of the most important moments of your first pregnancy and felt absolutely awful about it even though you would reassure him  over and over that you weren't upset with him in the slightest. You understood the music industry and how grueling it could be. You sat up in bed, setting  the novel that you had been trying to read to the side as you watched the way his eyelids fluttered ever so softly. He finally was able to fall asleep after restless night after restless night and the sight was almost enough to bring you to tears. Maybe it was the rollercoaster of hormones you were experiencing, you were now about eight months pregnant with your second child and since then the littlest things were enough to cause the waterworks to erupt. You could be eating your favorite ice cream or watching a dog commercial. Your tired eyes flashed down to the sparkling diamond ring that was nestled comfortably on your finger. You still remember the day he got down on his knee to propose. It was at Neverland in front of the fireplace. The look on his face, God, you'd never forget that look of pure love on his features as he asked you to marry him. You seriously loved this man with every fiber of your entire being. He made you so happy and you always felt at peace whenever he was around.

Suddenly he began to stir a bit, his handsome face crinkling up slightly as he started to murmur something that you couldn't make out at first.
"No...no..." you heard and it was low at first and you chuckled a bit, figuring he was probably dreaming which was rare. It was only when he started to murmur again, this time a bit louder that your attention was focused on him.

"Please... don't! Bring me back! Bring me back to her!" His voice was shaky which startled you and it was then you reached over to touch his side gently.

"Baby?"

"Nooo I Can't leave h-her I won't leave my family! Don't don't this to m-me!" Your husband suddenly yelled in his sleep and you were quick to place both of your manicured hands onto his bare shoulders, shaking him slightly. "Michael baby, wake up!" You tried not to yell, your voice firm and his eyes opened in a panic, as his hand latched on to yours, those beautiful brown orbs of his locking with you as he quickly sat up in bed, trying to catch his breath. "S-Shit I'm so sorry baby...I must've been dreaming" his voice was hoarse and you reached over on the nightstand to open up the water bottle that had been sitting there so he could take a sip. Luckily he didn't wake up their son who was asleep on his room down the hall.

"What were you dreaming about?" You asked softly, watching the way his fingers trembled as he continued taking huge gulps of water. It's no wonder he didn't choke. He was silent for a few minutes, running a shaky hand through his dark messy locks and it was starting to worry you that he didn't respond right away.

"I, It was a nightmare. I had a nightmare that I d-died. I was trying so hard to get back to you, to get back to our family but I, I couldn't get-" Michael's voice broke slightly as he couldn't finish his sentence and you quickly brought him into your warm embrace. "I don't know what I would do, if I couldn't be with you anymore y/n" he spoke and you felt your eyes well up with fresh tears. There was a sincerity in his tone along with pure fear that made you feel sick. "Nothing is gonna happen to you sweetheart...I won't allow it" you tried to joke weakly and he sniffled, lifting his head up from your shoulder to give you a smile, the tears now welling up in his eyes also.

"I just get so damn scared sometimes you know? So scared that one day I'm gonna wake up and you're not here..." Michael's voice was still filled with raw emotion as he leaned back in bed against the headboard, bringing you closer to him so now that your head was laying against his chest. You could hear the racing of his heartbeat. "I love you so much...words can't even begin to describe it" he spoke, leaning down to place a kiss on top of your forehead. It was a simple gesture that he's done often since you two got together that you always loved. "I love you too. You mean everything to me...always" your voice was soft as you looked up at him and brought him in for a sweet kiss. It was delicate and his lips were always so soft and gentle against yours. You swore you craved them. It was crazy how after all these years of being together Michael's kisses still managed to leave you breathless and give you butterflies. It wasn't long before the kiss between you two started to intensify and you found yourself moaning into his mouth as his hand immediately went for your hair, his fingertips massaging your scalp. He broke the kiss, his lips hungrily going for the base of your neck, peppering the soft skin with kisses.

"We should stop... before we end up making another baby" you giggled at his remark that was mumbled against your skin and when you felt that familiar kicking sensation in your stomach, you gasped. You have experienced it with your son but not yet with your daughter. "Baby!" you spoke excitedly, lifting up your pajama shirt so that your belly was exposed. You reached out and placed his large hand onto of your protruding belly. It was something that your husband had missed out on so frequently during your first pregnancy. You didn't want him to miss it again this time. "Wait for it..." you whispered, gazing into his eyes in anticipation and it wasn't long before he finally got to feel the fluttering sensation underneath his palm. Michael's eyes went wide with surprise and a beautiful smile broke out onto his features as he let out a gasp. It reminded you of a child on Christmas morning finally opening up their presents. He was so precious.

"Babygirl... you're having a ball in there huh?" You looked down at your belly with a smile, speaking to your daughter whom suddenly had a burst of energy. "Daddy and Mommy can't wait to meet you lil bit" he spoke with such love and once again you felt those damn waterworks start up. "Aww y/n don't cry mama" he cooed, trying not to laugh at your dramatics as he reached out to wipe your flowing tears from your flushed features. "These damn hormones!" You sniffled and he laughed, giving you a lopsided grin. "Let's try to get some sleep yeah?" You spoke as the two of your layed back down, his body nestled firmly behind yours, comfortably spooning you. "I'll try...as long as I don't have anymore nightmares" he whispered before placing a kiss on your shoulder.
