*she didn't realize what was actually happening until it was too late. Fallen to the floor, struggling. Fighting against the turned butler. She couldn't hold it back for long enough, as it sunk its teeth into her shoulder. Making her scream out.*

Stolas stood hands trembling as he pulled the butcher knife from Stella's skull. He just killed her. But she wasn't herself. He barely had time to even understand what was going on. Eyes go to Octavia and the butler.

"Nooo!"

He called out voice echoing through the hallway. He's running towards them using his magic to send the zombie flying through the window.

"Via...no...please no."

He collapsed next to her pulling her into his lap.

*she was squirming in pain, the bite was close enough to her neck to make some pretty major bleeding happen too.*

"I-it fuckin h-huRTS, what's happening?!?! I-I'm so- I-I..."

"No no no...hold on...please...you...you're going to be okay."

He had sat the knife down next to him and was cradling her.

"d-dad...w...is...is what happened t...to mum gonna hap...pen to me...?"

*some heavy coughs followed those words, staring up at the ceiling.*

"I...I don't know Starfire...I...you'll be fine...its going to be okay. We'll go see Blitzy! He...he'll know what to do."

"...I...I don't know if I...I'll make it that far..."

*groaning a bit, trying to sit up...failing.*

"You have to Via. I...I can lose you. Please."

Tears run down his cheeks as he nuzzled into her.

"I can't lose you."

"...I'll...I'll try...g-gotta...gotta go..."

"Go...yes...we should go."

He stood up looking for something...anything to wrap around her wounds.

*she felt weaker. Weaker and weaker, blood pouring out of her frail body like a fountain...she knew it was coming. she knew. She knew, she knew, sheknewsheknewsheknewsheknew-*

"Dad...I-I love you...okay...? D-Don't forget that..."

"I could never forget that. Via...I love you too my precious little starfire. You made my life so much better the day you hatched from your egg. You saved me."

"...well...I...I'll try and return the favor...then..."

*she groaned weakly, vomiting up blood onto the floor next to her.*

"...what's...that on the ceiling?"

"What? What does that mean?"

He frowned gaze going up to the ceiling.

"What are you talking about?"

*she simply put her head back, the last thought in her head was a simple one. Faint, slowly being overtaken by dizziness, and the cold...*

'...can't let him see the end.'

*...and her eyes went blank. Empty. Soulless. Like a puppet's strings just got cut. A light bulb burning out.*

He felt her go limp in his arms. He closed his eyes tears falling down his cheeks.

"Via...Starfire?"

He knew she was gone yet he prayed it wasn't true.

*...emptiness...until the light in her eyes slowly came back. But it was different...like red sunlight coming from a window. It was ominous...unnatural...body twitching, muscles seizing as something else took control. Blood dripping from her eyes.*

"Shhh, Starfire. It's okay. I'm here."

He still held her in his lap. He knew what he had to do. That wasn't his little Starfire anymore. He reached for the knife beside him as he started to sing to her.

I hope you take it as a sign that

And if the seven hells collapse

He plunged the knife into her skull tears falling from his eyes.

"Daddy's here. I'll always be here."

He held her close rocking her as if she was merely asleep.

*as the song went on, she got more and more awake. More violent. Squirming in his grasp, growling and snarling...until it stopped. A sickening crunch filling the air as the knife pushed her skull apart. Into her brain. Ending the pain of being dead...*

*...even stars burn out.*
