HOGWARTS - DEFENCE AGAINST THE DARK ARTS CLASS
(Moody stands in the front of Defence Against The Dark Arts classroom with the students looking at him)
Mad-Eye: Alastor Moody.
(He writes his name on the board)
Mad-Eye: Ex-Auror... Ministry malcontent. And your new defence against the dark arts teacher. I'm here because Dumbledore asked me, end of story, goodbye, the end. Any questions?
(He looks around the silent classroom)
Mad-Eye: When it comes to the dark arts, I believe in a practical approach. But first, which of you can tell me how many unforgivable curses there are?
Hermione: Three sir.
Mad-Eye: And they are so named?
(He starts to write on the board while Hermione explains somewhat shakily)
Hermione: Because they are unforgivable. Use of any one of them will...
Mad-Eye: Will earn you a one way ticket to Azkaban. Correct. Now the ministry says you're too young to see what these curses do. I say different! You need to know what you're up against, you need to be prepared.
(Seamus tries to stealthily put his gum under his desk but Mad-Eye's magic eye turns around and spots that)
Mad-Eye: You need to find somewhere else to put your chewing gum other than the underside of your desk Mr Finnigan!
Seamus: Aw no way, the old codger can see out the back of his head.
(Mad-Eye throws the chalk at Seamus in anger)
Mad-Eye: And hear across the classrooms!
(All the students turn to face Mad-Eye who walks towards the front row)
Mad-Eye: So, which curse shall we see first? WEASLEY!
Ron: Yes...
(Ron looks up at Mad-Eye visibly nervous and scared)
Mad-Eye: Stand.
(Ron slowly stands up)
Mad-Eye: Give us a curse.
Ron: Well, my dad did tell me about one...
Mad-Eye: Hm?
Ron: The imperious curse.
Mad-Eye: Ahhh yes, your father would know all about that. Gave the ministry quite a bit of grief a few years ago. Perhaps this will show you why.
(Mad-Eye pops open a jar with a spider in it)
Mad-Eye: Hello. What a little beauty.
(He gently takes the spider out of the jar, he takes out his wand and points it at the spider)
Mad-Eye: Engorgio.
(The spider grows double in size)
Mad-Eye: Imperio!
