Can't Let Me Go

Chapter 5

We sat there for maybe two hours, coming up with any kind of explanation to why he's here, right in front of me. I could see from the corner of my eye that his mouth would slightly part, like he wants to say something but can't come up with anything.

I came up with an idiotic idea but its all I could've come up with at the moment. I turn to Calum and he's still starring out into space, thinking really hard about this. I take the time to examine him, as he is now than how he was before, when he was alive. His jaw is still as sharp as ever, his lips look pale and feel chapped, he felt cold from when we had kissed. His hair is still the same dark brown as before with the streak of blonde in the front, he would occasionally clench his jaw from so much thinking and I actually thought he would break his own teeth from clenching it too much and too hard.

I decide that I should speak up now, but as I'm about to, Calum beats me to it.

"Take a picture babe, it'll last longer" He turns to me and grins. "What's on your mind? You've been starring at me for like five to ten minutes" I look down, feeling the heat creep up onto my face. I feel embarrassed knowing he actually noticed, but I wouldn't blame him. I starred at him for a good while.

"Sorry" I laugh. "I came up with an idea, a stupid one but I think it might work" I say, he looks at me as if saying to go on so I do so. "We could google this up. See if anyone as gone through the same problem like me." I suggest, I see him furrow his eyebrows slowly, thinking over my suggestion.

"I don't know, Annie. It doesn't sound right that there's other people going through the same problem as us" He has that look in his eyes, as if saying I'm going crazy. "But hey, lets give it a shot at least" He smirks, I wish he wasn't dead, I'd probably take him right here, right now. Focus Annie.

I smile at him and get up to go get my laptop. I go down on my knees and look under the bed for my laptop, once I see it I grab it and sit back down on my bed next to Calum. I google anything I can about ghosts, how to get rid of them or put them at peace. I groan in frustration when I find nothing for about 30 minutes of trying to google anything helpful, I look over at the clock and it's already 10:45. 

Oh my god.

"Its already past 10 Calum, aren't you tired?" I asked him in disbelief. I can never be the person to have an "all nighter", I always tend to fall asleep around 10 or 11. If I'm lucky then around 1 in the morning.

"Helllooo, if you haven't noticed Annie, I'm kinda sorta dead" I look over at him and see him trying not to laugh. "Ugh, don't say that word. It gives me the chills knowing I'm talking to a dead person right now, and it being YOU." I say to him. Its true, actually. I hate that word, especially since it's used in the same sentence with him. 

I see lights outside my window, I get up from my bed and go to the window. My eyes widen when I see its my moms car. She's home.

I back away and rush towards Calum. "My moms home, you have to hide or leave or whatever, just make sure she doesn't see you!" I rush my words, knowing my mom could come inside and into my room any minute. I push him, encouraging to pick. Either to leave or hide, honestly, I prefer him to leave because I do not want my mom to accidentally see him or hear him.

He looks at the closet, to the window then to the closet. He makes up his mind and walks towards the window, ready to leave. He stops in his tracks and turns around to me, before I could register anything he already has his lips on mine. Even if they're cold and a bit chapped, I'd be lying if I said I didn't like having his lips back on mine. I didn't get the chance to kiss back because when I opened my eyes, he was already gone.

I hear a knock on my door a few seconds after, when I turn around I see my mom looking at me like I'm some sort of idiot. I just realized how dumb I look right now, standing in the middle of the room and starring into nothing.

"Hey, Honey. I'm home, what did you do while I was gone?" I wait a minute, I shouldn't tell her, right? She's gonna think I'm going crazy or if I'm seeing things. I wouldn't blame her, that's what I thought about myself too.

"Nothing, Mom. Just been on my laptop all day long"

ooKAAYYY. This was a pretty butty chapter tbh, it wasn't very good in my opinion. But in the next chapter, there's gonna be surprise to anyone who know the new up coming characters in the next chapters (; I'll try my best to make this book interesting and awesome. Vote, and Comment guys please .x
