He had ordered Emily and JJ to go to the barn. It's was just supposed to be a witness interview. But there was no time. Emily was the one to realise that he was the unsub.
JJ covered the barn while Emily went out back to the cornfield. When she heard voices she continued on walking.
But he was quicker, one hit to the head and she was out like a light.

Reid and Morgan got to check up on JJ and Emily once they don't come back. They find JJ first.
She was frozen in place. Around her was dogs all shot through and through.
"JJ where is Prentiss?" Morgan asks her, but she keeps talking. When she doesn't reply when Morgan asks her again, Reid steps in.
"JJ look at me" He says, "Where is Emily"
"We split up, she went round back" JJ says disorientated.
By the time they realise shes missinng, Hankle it 2 towns over.
Emily is awoken by the smell of burning. She is tied to a chair. Her head hurts, definitely a concussion. She looks up to see Hankle towering above her. Talking. But it's not him. Multiple personalitys.
"You don't have to do this" She says as he point the revolver at her.
The team set up shop in Hankles house seeing its convenience. Garcia immediately begins work on his computers.
It's hours later when Tobias walks in, it takes a moment for Emily to realise that he's holding a vial and a siringue. She flinches when he ties the belt around her arm. She ahd taken drugs enough in her team year to know what it feels like. Enough during her Undercover days to know how to fight it.
It's Morgan and Penelope who see Emily on the screen first. Garcia stares in shock as Morgan call out to the others.
She is tied to a chair. There a blood stains all over her white shirt, she had clearly had been beaten.
"No" is the first thing she says
"Chose who dies" Hankle says.
"I can't track it, it's only being streamed to us" Garcia says.
"No" Emily says again
They see Hankle out his hand around her neck and squeeze. "Pick one or the all die"
Once he relaxes his hand, she speaks. "Me, you said to choose one. I choose me, kill me and let them live"
"Ill kill them all"
The screen blacks out after she finishes.
Morgan stamps out of the room. Once they are all gathered Morgan speaks. "This wasn't supposed to happen, she hasn't even been her for 6 months"
"It's my fault, I should have let her go alone, she came of a desk job" Jjs says.
"Anything we say, won't help her. We need to focus on Hankle" Hithc cuts through.
Garcia finds a way for Gideon to send Emily a message.
"Prentiss those deaths were not your fault, stay stor--" The message it cut of when Hankle pulls the plug out.
He walks up to Emily. "What is he-?" He notices the marks on her arms, "What is this?"
He switches the camera back on, Gideon and Garcia both watching. Emily looks worse than before.
"Time for you to confess your sins" his voice echos
"No" Emily says
He punches her in the face, "Confess"
