A/N

Finally finished school for the year! And I finally had time to write, please write comments, it would mean the world to me honestly.

Where do you live?

I'm from Australia, but I was born in South Africa.

Anyways, I'm pretty happy because I got the highest grade on my English Exam, surprisingly. However, in Math, I'm currently being accelerated to do it in the year above me, but out of all the people who are being accelerated I got the worst grade :(.

Next year I'm going to do triple science and honestly I don't know what possessed me to do that when choosing my subjects.

Also, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! (if I don't update before then again)

Taehyung was curious about you, constantly stealing glances of you while you followed behind him. He noticed the way you nervously played with the hem of your top, the way you constantly looked behind you with paranoia, and the way you stared right back at him like you were just as intrigued about him as he was of you.

He wanted you to feel safe, he wanted to tell you that you could stop running now, that you were safe now, that whatever demons you were running from were gone now.

But he couldn't.

So instead he held his Texta stained hand out for you.

Immediately you knew what he wanted and you were glad he was offering. Something about him made you feel secure, like he would shine so bright for you that all your shadows would burn away.

You took his hand and he gave you another big, goofy, boxy grin that was so bright it was almost as blinding as the sun.

You watched as a police car rushed past you and him, its bright red and blue lights flashing and its siren wailing. You clutched Taehyung's hand, trembling in fear. But this was a new place, a place of freedom, perhaps the people behind the wheel were not the monsters you've come to know, the kind that watch a child be beaten in exchange for a bit of cash. The kind of monsters that will happily have their silence bought.

Instead of focusing on the loud car, you looked ahead, following the woman Taehyung brought to you earlier when he dragged you away with the mission of bringing you to her after finally remembering why the language you spoke sounded so familiar. Apparently, the woman, who you learnt to be Taehyung's grandmother, had spent time studying abroad when she was younger where she had to learn your native language.

Taehyung gave your hand a gentle squeeze as you entered the daunting brick building that held many people in uniform. Taehyung's grandmother went up to the front desk and started speaking. "Hello miss, I have a lost child with me, she says she doesn't have any parents, and doesn't speak a word of Korean, fortunately, I speak her native tongue."

The lady peered over the desk to see you hiding behind Taehyung, but sneaking a curious peek at her behind his shoulder with wide eyes. "Would it be alright if I speak to her and you translate for me, ma'am?," she asked Taehyung's grandmother, to which she replied with a soft smile and a short nod of her head.

The lady walked up to you, crouching down to your level, which made you feel less intimidated. "Hello sweetheart, can I ask for your name?," she said so softly, you imagined she would have a lovely singing voice.

"I'm Y/n, and this is Taehyung," you replied, your voice hoarse from a lack of water.

"Well, Y/n and Taehyung, it is a pleasure to meet you, my name is Officer Choi, but you can call me Ji-Eun" the lady smiled at you both gently, "do you know where your parents are Y/n?"

"My parents left me all alone," you told her.

"I know darling, but we're going to help you find them again," she tried to assure you. "When did you last see them?," you held out four fingers. "I don't know what that means darling. Four hours ago?"

"No." You replied bluntly, "when I was four."

"I see," she said, you were small and couldn't be older than four anyways, perhaps you were just giving convoluted answers, so she asked, "and how old are you now?"

Slowly, you counted on your fingers until you held up nine of them.

Officer Choi couldn't hide her shock at the revelation, if you were truly nine you were severely malnutritioned. Wherever you had come from, you had not been treated well. "Oh darling, let's get you something to eat before we ask anymore questions, okay?"

You slowly nodded your head, food sounded perfect but you didn't know whether or not you could fully trust Officer Choi.

However, as Taehyung followed the Officer, you were forced to follow suit as you didn't want to let go of his hand. You found yourself in a room with a small desk and the Officer leaving to find you a meal.

Eventually, she came back with a plastic bowl filled with steaming hot rice, vegetables, and a fried egg. You had never been offered a meal that looked as delicious before. "It's Bibimbap," Taehyung's grandmother told you, "it's for you to eat". You had just stared at the meal, memories of being fed a meal, only to end up in a room you've never seen before, terrified, alone, and freezing cold.

"It's okay doll, take your time," the officer said, "in the meantime do you mind if I ask a few more questions?". You shook your head no. "Do you know where you're from?," she asked first.

"Umm...," you started, it was a hard question, where are you from?, you were from many places but also nowhere. "Across the water," you finally said, because that's how you got here.

"Ok darling, how about this?," she asked, "do you know where you are now?"

"No," you told her, "I don't know"

"Well, darling, this probably doesn't mean much to you," she started, "but you're in Busan, Korea right now."

Just then your stomach grumbled, and Taehyung noticed. He came up to your food, took your spoon, and ate a helping of your food. "Mhmmm," he exaggerated and made a chef's kiss. Then he gave you the spoon. You instantly started eating, feeling safe enough to do so after seeing Taehyung eating.

After you finished, the Officer spoke to you again, "I'm glad you enjoyed the food, but sweetheart, you've got cuts all over you so I think we should take you to the hospital, they'll fix you up and you'll be good as new!"

"Ok," you said, just happy to have eaten real food since God knows when. Plus, being fixed up didn't sound half bad.

"Would it be alright for you to come along ma'am?," the Officer asked Taehyung's grandmother, "it seems she's become attached to your son," she said watching as you went to grab Taehyung's hand again, craving its safety and warmth, "quite literally," she laughed.

"Of course," Taehyung's grandmother replied, laughing along with the officer, "whatever we can do to help".

After a drive in the Police Car, you found yourself in front of a large white building with several glass windows placed methodically. You entered, still holding Taehyung's hand. After waiting for what felt and probably was hours, the Officer and a man in scrubs took you to a room with a white bed and colourful walls.

You found yourself seated in the bed, while you watched the Officer and man talk. You watched him wearily, and when he started moving you felt yourself become tense, and when he grabbed a needle and syringe you screamed.

Those things only came with horrible things, you tried to run but Officer Choi wrapped her arms around you, holding against the bed, hushing you, whispering sweet things you don't understand while you sobbed and squirmed against her. You yelled that you wanted to leave, you tried to push her away, you felt betrayed. You did everything you could, until the needle came in contact with your shoulder and you lost consciousness.
