Nabi was woken up by a constant sounding alarm, the continued chaos of shooting and explosions around her. Is this how it's going to be every time? She was sitting in the back of an armored truck, waking up in a panic. She opened her eyes searching for her bag that was only a few inches away from her hand. She looked for her black box and put it inside her jacket, something she should've done from the start. They would always be safer with her. As she accessed the surroundings of the dirtied truck with stains of blood and a few supplies, she realized someone had put a bulletproof vest around her, had cleaned all the blood from her face and her hand had been wrapped. Just for a moment, she felt the familiarity of being a soldier again. But that's when she heard voices arguing outside the open door.

"Count us out. Pack it up UDT. We're heading back" She heard Sergeant Kim order.

That's when she heard her Uncle Tak "What are you doing?"

She took this as a sign to slide herself, at the back truck's entrance her feet dangling a few feet away from the floor. No one noticed her quiet movements as they were focused on the argument that was brewing. She saw dozens of soldiers injured, and she saw her uncle's back, staring at Sergeant Kim whom she was getting a better look at. It was as if all possible natural disasters had hit the city with no way to stop them. There were no civilians in their view, only lines of soldiers wearing green and black.

Sergeant Kim pleaded "They are barely awake sir, they're starving, injured, and exhausted

Sergeant Kim pleaded "They are barely awake sir, they're starving, injured, and exhausted. Do I need to remind you of the extra body we're carrying in the armored truck. You heard them. We lost our vehicle and are out of ammo."

Uncle Tak in disbelief said "So what? We abandon the second platoon?"

Sergeant Tak scoffed "Yes, abandon them. Just abandon them. Abandon the dead and protect our men who are alive."

Nabi understood both sides she did. Carrying around extra soldiers who were injured would only put them in more danger as they couldn't even fight. However, they couldn't abandon their comrades, the point of this was to save lives leaving them behind regardless of whether being soldiers would be cruel.

"Yahh, Seok Chan!" Sergeant Kim looked at the crowd.

"Yes, sir" he responded moving forward.

"What did central command tell us six hours ago?" Kim questioned.
