I was awaken by Sayla, who had breakfast ready. "It's christmas break, 2 weeks." she said, "Luckily for you we don't have school. I did promise my friends that I'd go somewhere with them today, so you have to stay inside and don't answer phones." Sayla ordered as she poured a black liquid into my cup. Coffee. the word came to my mind easily. I almost drank it but Sayla stopped me abruptly.

"Don't drink it black!" Sayla snapped, taking the cup away from me and pouring sugar, creamer, and caramel into the cup. It smelled so good. She handed it back to me and then made my plate. I felt like a baby. So helpless, not being able to even walk on my own.

"can you stay home by yourself?" Sayla asked as we ate our Pancakes and Bacon.

I nodded. "Yeah, I'll be just fine." I wouldn't be just fine, and I knew it. She probably knew it, too. Being a burden who always dragged her around is the last thing I wanted to do.

"I'll be off now!" Sayla giggled after we ate breakfast. I waved her goodbye and locked the door behind her as instructor.

Loneliness overcame me suddenly again. I was alone in this 2-story home, with nobody to help me.

I decided to watch TV for a few hours, and then the phone rang. I ignored it the first 7 times, but the ringer got annoying and I took the phone off the hook and answered.

"Sayla isn't home right now." I immediatly said.

"How do you like your memory loss?" a male voice asked rudely from the other side of the phone.

I froze. this person... He must have been the one key to my memories.

"You must be confused. Come meet me at the park." He said, "The park that is in view from your house." and then the line went silent.

I put the phone down and then shoved my boots on. I was already pretty cleaned up. I grabbed the spare keys that Sayla gave me and walked outside, locking the door behind me. I then ran towards the park. The snow was all melted, but it was still cloudy outside. The air was nice and warm despite the sun being hidden from the world.

I stopped at the park and thought that I was going to be out of breath, but I felt fine. "Hello?!" I asked, my hair blowing with the wind, wanting to escape with it and follow it's directions.

"How sad." I heard a male voice, deep. Like the one on the phone. "You look like such a fragile girl right now." I looked behind me, fear was suffocating me and intoxicating my lungs until I felt like I was choking. There stood a man, not much taller than me.

"I..  Who am I?!" I ordered.

"Your name.. is Subject 476."
