"Charlie, you want to hang out with us after school today? We're going to Julian's house."

"Can't-"Greg interrupted her before she could finish.

"Baby, we can't be friends if you won't hang out with us. I'm starting to think that you don't love me. Please tell your daddy that that is not the case."

She frowned at him raising an eyebrow and shaking her head. "I don't love you. Please refrain from calling yourself my daddy; it's weird. And if you had not interrupted me I would have been able to say that I can't because I have to work after school."

I couldn't help but laugh at the two, they seemed to be constantly at war with each other, while at the same time remaining friends. For the past week, Greg has been bothering Charlize and she looks just about ready to punch him in the throat. However, there are times when they are cracking each other up and having a blast.

I had yet to see Charlize's real smile. They were all pretty but at the same time they were all guarded. I hadn't seen here eyes thaw out and her face brighten with a smile; it made me wonder if she ever did or if she was always so calculating and cold.

She had definitely warmed up to us but that's not really saying much. We didn't know anything about her and anytime we asked, she managed to divert out attention or just completely disregard it. She wasn't mean exactly, she just didn't speak to anyone but us, granted that nobody worked as hard as us to get her to talk.

After she had confused the utter shit out of me with her "okay," I hadn't been able to sleep. I was too worried about what was going to happen the next day, anxious as to whether or not she would fucking talk to me. Imagine my surprise, anger, happiness, and annoyance that morning when she greeted me with a smile and good morning. She just completely acted like nothing had happened. She had obviously seen my annoyance and found it funny because she had then proceeded to ask me how my night was. It was as if she had said okay because she knew it would bother me.

She was an evil mastermind and I had yet to get on her bad side again. Thank God.

"Julien, are you just going to let her talk to me like that, your beautiful boyfriend that you love so dearly." Greg practically had tears in his eyes, the scene making Charlize roll her eyes with a smirk.

"Is everything a joke to you?" She asked before I could speak.

Greg dropped the act and shook his head no. "Not everything."

   "Then what?"

   "Football."

   I coughed. "And Serena."

Greg glared at me and I chuckled, shrugging my shoulders. He had yet to speak to her and was content to just stare at her creepily from behind bushes and corners.

"Shut the fuck up, Julien." He muttered, looking away. Probably looking for his crush as we spoke.

"Well, since you suck at football hopefully you're better with the ladies." Charlize said sarcastically causing Greg to glare at her.

   "Excuse me?"

She smiled at him, her eyes challenging him. "What? I was ju-"

He cut her off, putting his hand up and scrunching his face. "Oh n-n-no! I know what you were just. Have you ever seen me play?"

She shook her head. "No, but if the football that landed at the back of my head is anything to go by, I'm going to say that you suck. Or did you intentionally try to hit me? Was that your first step in bothering me those two months? Was is all a set up?" She said with wide eyes, daring him to correct her.
