Chapter two

Unknown: hey it's katie are you free tonight?

Y/N: Hi katie yeah I can be free tonight, what were you thinking?

                        Name changed to: Katie

Katie: I'll pick you up at 7, wear something warm.

Y/N: Umm ok but where are we going?

Katie: don't worry about that just be ready for 7 :)

It's safe to say I was nervous, I mean I have only just met this girl but for some reason I trust her entirely. I had only known Katie for a few hours but I already liked her, she was different, I don't know why she just was. Although I'm still not sure if this was a date or if she felt complied to hang out with the new girl.

I started getting ready which took a lot longer than usual due to most of my clothes still being in boxes all around my room. I chose a pair of blue jeans paired with my favourite hoodie and a pair of white converse. Just before 7 I grabbed my coat and my bag and waited downstairs for katie.
"Where are you off to?" my mum said as I walked into the kitchen. "I'm off out with Katie, she offered to show me around" I replied while checking my phone for any texts. "Well don't be too late I don't know my way around to come and find you in the middle of the night" "ok mum I'll make sure I'm not out late" I replied "thank you sweetheart, have fun!" as I turned to walk away my mum called me back, "y/n?" "yes mum?" "Katie seems like a nice girl, you'd do well to get to know her". I rolled my eyes and walked away, my mum is always trying to set me up she thinks I'll be alone for ever if she doesn't.

Katie sent me a message letting me know she was outside. I walked to the door and opened it to a smiling Katie, she was wearing a pair of ripped jeans and a nike hoodie she looked incredible. She began walking back up the drive I stayed and watched her while smiling a bit, maybe my mum was right. "What are you smiling at slowcoach? Are you coming or not?" "yeah yeah I'm coming hang on". As we were walking I tried to ask katie what she had planned but she kept telling me it was a surprise, this definitely feels like a date but I try not to get my hopes up. "So what were you smiling at when I picked you up? Seemed like you were miles away" Katie asked "oh just something my mum said, nothing important". I couldn't tell her the truth I mean how crazy would I sound explaining to her that although we had just met my mother thinks we would be great together and I don't exactly disagree with her.
"Ok we're here, it's just up these steps" katie said bringing me out of my thoughts.
When we reached the top I saw Katie reach into her bag and pull out a picnic blanket, she put it on the ground and gestured for me to sit with her. "I thought you were showing me around?" I questioned her as I took my place next to her. "Yeah I am, well I'm showing you my favourite place because it's just so beautiful" she replied. "I can't argue with that it is really beautiful". She looked at me and smiled and then reached into her bag once again this time pulling out a pack of beer. She handed me one and opened a can for herself, I followed suit and opened the can taking a sip and looking at the view which seems to be the entire town, it really is beautiful.

Katie and I continued to drink the beer and got to know each other. I discovered that she is a professional footballer and has just signed a contract with Arsenal which means she'll be moving to london at the end of summer. I told her about my ambitions to become a sports physio and how I was planning to continue studying at the local college after the summer break.
When I looked at my phone it was 10pm, we had managed to talk for three hours and not even realise. "I really must be getting back I'm sure my mum is about to send out a search party if she hasn't already" Katied chuckled and got up to put the blanket away and throw the empty cans in the bin. We started to walk down the hill and Katie took my hand which she said was to stop me falling but I'm not so sure.
She walked me all the way to my front door where we both stood for what felt like an eternity not knowing what to say. Eventually Katie spoke, "I really enjoyed spending time with you tonight, I'd like to do it again that's if you're up for that" "I had a great time Katie I would love to hang out with you again but right now I have to go before my mum drags me in by my hair" I said half believing that my mum would actually do that. "Well I'll text you yeah?" "yeah ok Katie, goodnight". Before she walked away she leaned in and kissed me, at first I was frozen in shock but I soon melted into the kiss just before she pulled away and went into her house.

Did that just happen or am I dreaming?

I opened the door and went inside silently praying that my mum wasn't sat waiting for me. To my surprise all the lights were turned off and there was no sign of anyone which I was incredibly grateful for the last thing I needed was my mother quizzing me on Katie.
I went upstairs and started getting ready for bed. I plugged my phone into charge and left it on bedside table while I went into the bathroom.
Eventually got into bed and checked my phone, I saw that Katie had sent me a message. I couldn't help but smile at the notification. I quickly replied then turned out the light and tried to sleep, my mind was replaying the moment Katie kissed me. Yeah I think that was a date.

Katie: Goodnight y/n, sleep well x

Y/N: Goodnight Katie thank you for taking me out tonight x

Katie: I can't wait to do it again beautiful x
