Detective Fisk's hurried entrance brought a new urgency to the atmosphere. He handed us the prints of Officer Rigg, and we swiftly examined them, our focus intensifying. Another officer joined, relaying news of shots fired at an apartment Rigg's apartment, as it turned out. The gravity of the situation hit us, and we exchanged a glance, realizing this case had just taken an unforeseen turn. Fisk instructed us to move quickly, and so we swiftly followed him, leaving the office.
When we arrived at Rigg's apartment, the SWAT team confirmed everything was clear. We followed inside and began investigating. We came across some very interesting photos on the walls of the living room. Certain photos stood out, featuring unfamiliar faces followed by pictures of Detective Hoffman and Detective Matthews.
Peter then found something I hadn't noticed yet a picture or, I should say, pictures of Jill Tuck, Jigsaw's ex, among other useful evidence. After we packed up everything at Rigg's apartment, Peter and I immediately headed to The Homeward Bound Clinic, Jill Tuck's recovery clinic for drug addicts, located in the downtown area of the city.
The urgency to question her about the connection to the case heightened, so we made our way back to the station with Jill Tuck. She was brought into one of the interrogation rooms. Before we went in, we obtained the files about her.
After finishing our preparations, we entered the interrogation room. I sat on one of the chairs in front of Jill, while Peter stood behind me, flipping through the files. "Miss Tuck, I'm Special Agent Y/N Strahm, and this is my partner, Special Agent Peter Strahm. We apologize deeply for disturbing you while you were working, but we have some questions for you," I said, watching Jill closely, waiting for a response.
"I don't think I could offer you more. You already should have around 100 hours of interrogation footage and all the volumes of evidence taken from my home. What more do you need to understand John?" Jill answered, seemingly slightly annoyed. "We don't want to ask you about John, we have some questions about you, Miss Tuck."
"Me? Get to the real reason why you brought me here and stop wasting our time. We all know this isn't about me!" Jill retorted. Feeling Peter's tap on my shoulder, signaling for me to step out, I left the room, casting a final glance before entering the room next to it to observe the unfolding interrogation.
I watched Peter interrogate Jill, fidgeting with the wedding band on my left ring finger. It was interesting to observe Peter interrogate people; he seemed very passionate about it. It seemed like he put some photos on the table presumably the ones we found in Rigg's apartment, featuring photos of Jill.
As the interrogation continued, Peter, displaying his fervor, took off his jacket and rolled up his sleeves. He approached Jill, his face getting angrier and more passionate, presumably to put more pressure on her. Time went on, and I could see Peter's body language becoming increasingly tense, his pace quickening as he moved around the room.
The interrogation was interrupted by Detective Fisk. Peter then followed him out of the room. I also decided to catch up with them since I wanted to see how Peter was feeling. I approached Peter once Fisk was done talking to him, he told me that there was a new body found, in somewhat of a more stressed tone than before. Talking to him, trying to calm him, I placed one of my hands on his cheek, cupping it. He placed his hand over my hand. "Don't let her get to you, try to stay focused," I looked him deeply into his eyes and gave him a quick but sweet kiss.
