The next few hours felt like eternity.
Your phone, a constant companion, lay beside you, poised for any incoming message from Trey. You arrived home at 3:30, eyes glued to the screen, eagerly awaiting a simple "Hi" or an "It's Trey" or anything, really.
Determined not to come off as the creepy, clingy girl, you resisted the urge to message him first. After all, it was his idea to talk about the training center, not yours. You needed to maintain control and not give into stupid impulses.
You tried to go about your usual routine, tackling homework, having dinner, taking a walk, doodling—anything to distract yourself. Yet, time seemed to drag on at a sluggish pace.
WHY CAN'T HE SAY SOMETHING. UGH.
By 8:30 p.m., you reluctantly admitted to yourself that you had zero self-control.
And then you messaged him.
You
HeyyAlmost immediately after your text, you saw 3 dots in a bubble appearing. He was typing.
Trey
HiiYou
How are you?Trey
Great, hbuYou
GreatYou
Could you send me the location of the training
centre and contact details for the coachTrey
Yep, I'll send the location, and I'll message you a
date and time. I'll be there so you can meet up with
the coach :))
You found yourself jumping up and down at the thought of meeting him outside of school. He was going the extra mile using personal connections for you. Maybe you could officially start talking and become friends.
Okay, maybe that's a bit too ambitious but WOW.
You
You're gonna be there as well? You
Please don't destroy me, I don't wanna embarrass
myself on the first day with the coachTrey
LMAO trust me you won'tTrey
Date and Time: Saturday, 4:00 p.m
Location: Leanne's Badminton Club, [City Name]Trey
I'll be there, don't be late 😉
It would be silly of you to freak out over an emoji.
You're completely fine. You will NOT freak out over a simple emoji.
HE SENT A WINKING EMOJI.
Your were giggling and dancing around your room at the thought of meeting him tomorrow, the cutest guy you know.
You decided to keep this interaction to yourself, if your friends found out about this, there will be no end to all the teasing.
You could not wait for Saturday. It was probably going to be a one-time thing but it's TREY. HE'S GOING TO BE THERE.
Aside from Trey texting you (you still couldn't believe it, the cutest guy in school was texting you), you were genuinely excited.
You had loved badminton since you were little. Never much of a sporty person, you always felt left out of activities during primary and middle school. When you found out that badminton would be a new addition to the school clubs, you were thrilled. It was the only sport you liked and were actually decent at.
Despite playing for just a few months, you showed tremendous growth and got selected for the school team. But now, with the competition getting tougher, you wanted to stay in the team and learn from a professional. You were genuinely excited to finally learn and improve.
Trey had played for 8 years and besides being hot, he was also great at what he did. You were really inspired by how dedicated and how willing to learn he was. You aspired to be just as great as him one day.

The Racket Quotient
General FictionShe fell first but he fell harder. He's hot but kinda clueless (but adorable). She's smart and pretty but doesn't know it. Both POVs. A really cute teenage romance based around badminton and math (ew math). Character driven story with some plot. IDK...
