Kayden
This day had been absolute torture.
First, I'd missed my bus, so my mom had to drive me in- I may be a sophomore now, but I still don't have my license yet. >:(
Anyway, the second annoying thing that happened was a rich kid junior deciding to sit next to me. This idiot ginger had been such an asshat last year as a sophomore that one of the touring 8th graders had to put him in his place. He was pretty quiet the rest of the year, but he was still stuck up.
The third thing to happen was something no one had expected- how could you when it was so out of the blue?
The twins had arrived. That's it. Just the twins.
Selene and Jace Grady (no they don't train raptors; do you know how many times people had asked them that whenever a new Jurassic Park/World movie came out?) were the most cliche twins ever. Complete opposites. The guy was all sporty and worked out a bunch and the girl was the girliest person ever.
Then, on top of everything, everyone had to sit through this hour-long assembly to welcome the new freshmen- very interested in meeting that 8th grader from last year- before the upperclassmen were supposed to be paired up with the newbies and guide them around (like they hadn't already taken a tour before).
Yep, this day was torture.
◇ ◇ ◇
Now way.
No. F***ing. Way.
The ginger was paired with the 8th grader- the 8th grader. This was gold! They... were also at each other's throats; can't say I didn't expect that. He has that effect on people.
Anyway, I turned back to my freshman, a girl slightly shorter than me with wavy brown hair tied up in two buns. She looked up at me with a blank stare, holding her schedule at her side.
"Uh... hi?" I greeted her.
She made no attempt to continue the conversation.
I cleared my throat nervously. "Well then- I should probably show you where you're classes are."
Silence.
"...Let's go."
Ugh- have I mentioned this day was torture?
◇ ◇ ◇
"And this is your 5th period: geometry with Mr. Ca-" A noise out in the hallway caught my attention. A quick glance told me it was Gingebitch again, but he had another freshman and senior with him. I turned back toward the freshman whose name, after seeing her name on her schedule, I found was Robin. "-steel... Hey, I'm gonna go see what that's about, 'kay? I'll be right back."
Completely ignoring the freshman I was paired up with, I walked over to the two as they yapped their heads off. The senior-freshman pair was standing off to the side, the former keeping a comforting hand on the latter's shoulder.
"-think you can just... make people do whatever you want?" The ginger's freshman- who happened to be taller than Ginger himself- was saying as I made my way over.
"Yes," the asshole replied, his arms crossed in front of him.
"Just because you're rich?"
"Bing-o."
"...Am I interrupting something?" I asked, finally making myself known. The senior took this opportunity to guide his freshman away and continue their tour.
The ginger's freshman looked down at me (yes, I was shorter than him, too. If you really want to know, I was also shorter than the ginger bitch) and his mood seemed to switch completely. He gave me a broad smile.
"Hello!" He greeted me with a small wave. "Sorry about the fighting. This guy's just impossible to get along with."
I nodded. "Yeah, I know. I had to deal with him last year."
"I'm sorry."
"Hey- I'm still here!" Gingebitch butt in, waving his arms. We ignored him.
"I'm Kayden," I said, putting my hand out. "Yours?"
The cool freshman shook it. "Micah."
"Cool name."
Gingebitch pushed Micah out of the way "Well mine is Noah if anyone cares-"
"No one does," I told him, pushing him back so I could see the cool freshman again (I totally didn't never know his name). Speaking to him, I asked "You wanna tour with me and my freshman? She doesn't talk much- or at all- but it's way better than Gingebitch over here."
"Hey-" "Sure!"
Micah headed back toward the classroom I'd come from and I smirked at Noah before following. I could tell Micah the Cool Freshman and I were gonna be great friends.
Maybe today wasn't all that tortuous.
