I tried to go with horror?
I have a very extreme fear of spiders and I feel like that is how victims might feel like going face-to-face with a villain. Kinda like a fly in a web.
Like illusions, the poison distorts the mind. I feel that it could really mess up your thoughts seeing something so terrifying and falling victim to that.
