Most of you know, I don't really like romance. But Even if you Slit My Mouth has one of the BEST couples I have seen. And I'm gonna talk about 3 of em. Also obviously spoilers ahead. Read Even if You Slit My Mouth first. I highly recommend it
1. Koichi X Miroku
I want to start by saying, most couples I actually like was because before they confessed. So after the confession scene, I don't really like them anymore.
That is why, when Miroku said this:

I was actually scared that this will go downhill for me. The reason I like this pair so much is because they're interactions aren't like lovers. You see, at the start of the series, Miroku does NOT have any feelings towards Koichi. And Koichi just starts teasing her to make her fall in love with him. And I actually like that. So with Miroku finally falling in love with him, Koichi doesn't have any need to tease her again. AND BOY AM I GLAD I WAS WRONG. The teasing didn't end. It's just it's Miroku's turn to tease him. The series even acknowledges this:

This pair doesn't do any of the cliche romance tropes. I mean sure, there's some kisses here and there, but this is actually very wholesome. I don't want the usual couple where they hold hands, hug, call each other with pet names. Ugh no. I want them to interact like they're best friends. And this is a perfect example of that (Aside from Hori X Miyamura)
2. Uda X Saya
OH MY GOD, I LOVE THIS SHIP. THIS IS BY FAR MY FAVORITE ONE. Let's start with small introductions. Uda is a some sort of medusa supernatural that's basically immortal. While Saya, is an old woman in this series. AND I LOVE IT. THIS GIVES ME SO MUCH JOY.

I LOVE THEM SO MUCH, I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU SAY. (Also bonus for Kotarou for being the best 3rd wheel. Relatable)
3. Momiji X Hajime
"But wait" I hear you say "I thought the flashback is to segue to the Sano's Family's past". I DON'T CARE. THEIR FLASHBACK IS HEARTWARMING. The "Girl with hearts of steel and the only guy who can melt it" trope is actually one I like.
Also this is not about the couple but about the flashback. This is what hit me hard
