From now onwards, the next few chapters will be set on two timelines i.e, letters in "normal" font means present day & the letters in "italics" font means past days.

Present
A few months later...
In a room, Jaanvi was sitting near the window, hugging her knees close to her heart, and aimlessly staring at the starry sky with her teary eyes. She didn't realise when one of her aunts, Shweta, entered the room and sat beside her and lightly called out her name making her coming out of her trance
Shweta: Jaanvi meri bachi, kaha khoi hui hai ?
Jaanvi: Mami aap ?
Shweta: Haa mai aur kaha khoi hui thi, hmm ?
Jaanvi: Kahi nhi mami bas ese hi bethi hui thi
Shweta: Acha thik hai, ab chal jaldi se tayar ho jao ganesh puja ke liye.
Jaanvi: Ji mami aap jaye mai tayaar ho jati hu
Shweta: Jaldi ha, thik hai meri bachi
Jaanvi mustered a faint smile and nodded at her aunt in response. With a gentle pat on Jaanvi's cheek, Shweta left the room leaving Jaanvi to her solitude. Jaanvi sighed and glanced around in the room which was now compiled with clothes, jewelleries and mostly with gifts
Jaanvi's POV
Life is completely unpredictable, no one knows what will happen the very next moment. My life has completely changed, especially in the last 3 months. Today is the ganesh puja and the day after tomorrow I am going to marry him and after that, I will be no longer addressed as Miss Jaanvi but rather as Mrs. Jaanvi, his wife and his family's daughter-in-law
If someone would have told me about this a few months back about this, I would have laughed and shooed that person away for this nonsensical gibberish but now it is happening in reality.
This is nothing but an unwanted alliance for both of us. We both have agreed for this arrangement only for the sake of our grandfathers because we had promised them. I don't know if he is actually really happy and ready with this or not as we had talked about this only twice, and afterward, neither did he contact me nor did I try to reach out to him. Moreover in between that time, he didn't say any word against this sacred alliance
End of POV
Clearing all the thoughts which were running in her mind, Jaanvi went to change for the puja which marked the beginning of her pre-wedding ceremonies.
After some time, she got ready in a cream- coloured Anarkali suit with a red banarasi dupatta. She tied her hair in a low bun and wore golden and white pearl studs which were complimenting her look.
As she was pinning up her dupatta at that moment, Chhavi, her one and only childhood best-friend entered the room to check her on up
Chhavi: Meri jaan ready ho .... aayee hayee !!! Dulhan ko dekho toh jara koi, kitni pyaari lag rahi hai
Jaanvi: Chhavi !!
Chhavi: Kya yaar, ab mai teri tareef bhi nhi kar sakti kya ? Abhi se hi kya sab haq hamare hone wale jiju ko de rakha hai ?
Jaanvi: Kuch bhi haa ?
Chhavi: Aur nhi toh kya. Acha chal ab sabhi log wait kar rahe hai tera
Jaanvi nodded at her and motioned to leave
