I joined him in the car and as he reversed out of camp, I couldn't help but have a dig at him. "I've been waiting all day-"

"I am sorry," he replied, "I wouldn't mess you about without a good reason... I was looking forward to taking you out.

I blushed, however he still seemed panicked about something.

"Sascha, what's going on?" he stopped the car just as we were leaving Esterhaven Forest.

"Something... found us," he blurted out, "I mean they found the camp,"

My heart stopped for a second, "wait, what? They know where we live? What we are?"

"My dad said not to panic," he said, trying to stay calm himself, though I could see straight through him, "Basically, he spotted a man and a car on the other side of the cliff with binoculars, watching us,"

My first thought was that he was a cop, which immediately sent me into panic mode, "Oh my god, they're after me!"

He grabbed my arm, "don't panic!" he repeated his father's words, "we watched the guy drive off. We're telling ourselves he's just an explorer,"

"Telling yourselves? No this is bad –"

"My dad can spot a threat from miles away, so he wouldn't have let us out if we were in danger, right?"

"Then why are you so agitated?"

"I'm not, I just -" he started the car again, "when I feel threatened by a human, let's just say I struggle to stay in control."

I didn't reply. Did that mean he had attacked, or even killed someone before?

We arrived at a small corner shop-like place where we would get the supplies. As we were heading into it, Sascha told me that they have security cameras, to which I replied: "We're stealing?"

He laughed, "no of course not," and then he lowered his voice, "just don't look directly into the cameras. They pick up our eyes and make them look like lights. We don't want anyone suspecting what we are,"

I tried to gather the supplies unsuspiciously, checking them off the list we had been given.

At the top of the list, (meaning most important) was more makeup for Claudia. It baffled me how she managed to survive as a werewolf. "Your job is quite easy," I said to Sascha after a while, breaking the deafly silence.

"Sure it is, this aspect is just shopping," he agreed, reaching up to a higher shelf to get some tin cans, "but you've yet to experience the other part – rescuing people. We're lucky we don't have to do it very often, because let me tell you, it's one of the riskiest jobs around. Like when Amelie and I saved you, for example. That was tense. Imagine what would have happened if all three of us got caught,"

"Why do you do it then?"

"Well, someone has to. Even though it's tough, I like the adrenaline rush after a successful mission. And the sense of pride I feel. Besides, I've told you before I just like travelling, getting away from camp. And if I can put my love of that to good use, then I will," I smiled. He had a golden heart.

After collecting the supplies, we were chatting non-stop on the journey back to camp. I had concluded that Sascha was the older, wiser and mature brother and easily more likable than Dominik. We had bonded really well and when he offered me the job as his travelling partner, I obviously accepted.

When we arrived, the fire was still burning bright, emitting smoke higher than the twenty foot trees. Other than the one main light source, there was nothing else as everyone had gone back to their cabins to sleep.

Despite it being late, I was far from tired and I felt like I was high on coffee. We dumped the supplies and I sat on a log near the cliff edge, feeling the warmth from the flame tingle on my back. I expected Sascha to return to his cabin as he complained he was tired, but I was wrong. "You're not supposed to be out late on your own," he teased. I rolled my eyes. Embracing the silence, I gazed at the setting sun, admiring the warm colours. I wanted to talk and ask Sascha what he meant when he said he loses control, but I couldn't bring myself to do so, in fear it wouldn't go down too well. I decided to take an alternate route to getting the information I wanted.
