After their dates with Rainbow Dash and Cosmo both of who they adore hanging out with the two boys, Sonic and Tails made arrangements to have a whole time together just the two of them as they barely got time to chill out ever since Sonic was brought back from the dead.

You see Tails was upset when his best friend died he felt sadden by what happen, when Apple Bloom's quest caught his attention he join her group and help avenge his friends death, not long did Amy got arrested Tails had felt better.

Luckily things improved when both his lost love and best friend return the two were relief to see each other again, but their bond havin been made properly as they focus more on their crushes and love interest.

Now we see to them they were in Tails workshop as the fox was finishing up on some devices he made as Sonic rested on a couch watching his bund do his work from a distance.

Sonic decided to speak up "almost done Tails?"

"just about Sonic" Tails said back "with this device it can be use to suck poison out of people"

"really?" Sonic asked "you think it'll work?"

Tails check his device "maybe i haven't actually planning on testing as that'll require a test subject and i don't want to get someone in danger if that happens and my device doesn't work-"

"it'll be fine Tails i'm sure it'll work after all your devices usually work out don't they?" Sonic asked.

Tails sigh a bit "yeah i guiess your right luckily my reasearch scanner can be the judge to see if it can cured poison" Tails then put the wires together fully and hold off "there i think its finish" he then grabbed it and reveal the device was some kind of ray gun looking device "i present to you the poison curable ray gun it'll eliminate poison"

"Wow great job Tails so are you gonna scan it now?" Sonic asked.

Tails nodded as he put the ray device on a scanner and check it up on his computer allowing the scanner to check to see if the device will work as he intended it to, after a few seconds of loading a confirmation image appear much to the foxes relief "yes it works! i'm hoping this'll play into use one day" Sonic dash towards him.

"alright now can we go on a run or in your case air dash we really need to work out a bit more" Sonic said as Tails smiled.

"alright i could use some more outside activities" Tails replied.

The two raced outside with Sonic dashing with Tails flying right behind him, as they did their run Sonic notice Apple Bloom and Espio together and notice them with Eevee and Kecleon, part of him kind of wish he hand a pokemon of his own one that can keep up with him in speed.

He had this thought not long after he came back from the dead seeing the pokemon around made him want one too one day, but for now he must focus on whats ahead as he and Tails came to a stay up on a hill.

Sonic took a deep breath and smell the fresh air as Tails landed right next to him "man i really miss this breath of the wonderful air its sure nice exploring our worlds ever since the merge of our worlds"

"yeah you know Sonic i tried to be strong for you" Tails said sadly "losing Cosmo was bad enough but you-" he wipe some tears off his face as the thought of thinking to when Sonic was dead came into mind "i just didn't truly had the heart to move on fully with my life despite my best efforts but when Apple Bloom's action caught my actions i decided to help out since it was my inventions that caused yours and Sunset's suffering in the first place"

"no your not responsible Tails" reassured Sonic.

"IT IS!" snapped Tails "i invented the geodes that Wallflower used to brainwash Sunset's friends into her minions said brainwashed Rainbow Dash into loving Fluttershy's brother over you! which in turn got you killed!!! in which got Sunset killed as well, so i'm responsile for everything that happened!!!" scream Tails who cried as Sonic allowed Tails to hug him letting it all out.

Sonic wish he could just Tails he figure it'll ruin them both so like before he just let Tails cried and waited till he stopped to speak "don't beat yourself up Tails i never blamed you for what happened it was Amy and Wallflower who was responsible for what happened you thought you were helping a friend and you helped out in the end" Tails look up to Sonic "i made mistakes too it was my actions that cause Infinite to mess with Amy in the end i know how it feels to have regret we can't change the past but we can hope for a better future"

With that said Tails pull away from Sonic feeling better as the hedgehog prove his understandings "thanks Sonic i needed that" Tails replied as Sonic gave him a thumbs up as the two continue watching the sun set before them unaware a pokemon watching them behind looking at Sonic with interest.
