The Final Mission?

Chapter 3

Alduin was curled up on a rock with his helm laying on his servos with Bumblebee laying against the large canine's side. Elita watched the two, a small smile as she could see the clear friendship between the two. Even though Elita wasn't apart of team Prime she'd always heard the stories. A lot of them where about Alduin which was upsetting to her when she never got the chance to say goodbye to him when he left for the Allspark. She wouldn't lie but she was a bit teary eyed when she saw the scout emerge from the forest with their legendary friend.

When Bumblebee contacted her saying he needed to talk she figured it was about Twitch and Thrash. Seeing as Optimus and Megatron were busy she agreed to meet up with him. There was quite a bit of time of her hugging and talking with Alduin before she actually contacted Optimus and Megatron. 

She could feel him and see him, but it still felt unreal. She knew Optimus would be in complete shock. There was one person though that she feared would be impacted the most. Knowing what would most likely happen once Optimus knew Alduin was back. The chances of Alduin being seen by anyone but the four of them was looking nonexistent.  She hated to see Alduin placed on hiding it seemed unfair to him. 

Her thoughts were disrupted when she heard the heavy footing of Optimus and Megatron. When the two cleared the trees and saw Elita they didn't glance in Alduin's direction. 

"What is it you needed us for." 

"Took you guys long enough." 

Megatron gave the femme a slight irritated look. He could tell she was talking about him mostly. It was usually harmless banter, but this seemed targeted. 

"Elita?"

"Right, your scout brought something for you."

Optimus looked over to see Bumblebee awake and quickly trying to get to his pedes. 

"Optimus! You're here! You won't believe who I found!"

The prime looked at his scout with confusion quickly growing tired of the guessing games.

"I found Alduin!"

Optimus's face quickly changed from a calm expression to a skeptical one. While Megatron looked slightly angered by this. Before the prime could dismiss the idea of whatever Bee found not to be Alduin he watched as a figure move behind the scout. As Optimus focused his attention to the figure behind Bumblebee, he felt his spark skip a beat. 

Alduin stood there before Optimus as the prime looked over all the canines' features seeing cuts and chips in the metal from past battles. The prime took a step towards Alduin. He didn't move far before Alduin had closed the distance himself. With in seconds Optimus was kneeling on the ground hugging the canine. 

Megatron kept his distance as he watched Optimus. Elita moved to stand beside Megatron.

"Aren't you going to go say hi to your longtime friend."

"That mutt isn't my friend. Never has been."

Megatron crossed his arms as he leaned against a tree trunk looking back towards the way he and Optimus came. 

"I know you two don't exactly have great history, but you should at least try to make amends. Alduin can be pretty forgiving when you try." 

Megatron looked back over at Optimus and Alduin watching the two interact with Bumblebee joining in.

"Now that he's here it'll be the end of our missions."

Elita looked back up at Megatron and bit of a sad look on her face. Megatron noticed this and felt concerned.
